When my grandpa had advanced dementia, once a week at lunch I’d just go sit with him in his room for an hour. He was asleep 90% of the time, so I’d just watch the 60s channel they turned his TV to. Noon hour was McHale’s Navy. Just hijinks & thin plots that have been ripped off 20 times since.

The way Kansas was settled created little ethnic population centers. We had a town of 5,000 people 15 miles south of us that was Swedish. You could tell the people that had ties to that town by looking at them. 50 miles west was Czech. West of that is 30,000 Volga Germans.
