I’ve fluctuated between living in deeply conservative and fairly progressive areas my entire life, and one thing it’s taught me is that most people don’t know a trans person personally.

Less than 1% of the US population and yet depicted as a nebulous threat. No unicorn, rather a perfect scapegoat.

Meanwhile, Connecticut bled. We've never recovered, mention of the shooting still hangs for a moment in conversations. Thanks, the right.
