By sharing our progress and learning openly, we strengthen our ability to grow as an organization, recognizing that reconciliation requires ongoing reflection and commitment to better serve those we support.
Last year, the City of Guelph released our Indigenous Relations Framework, formalizing our commitment to reconciliation by embedding Indigenous perspectives into how we serve and support our community. Today, we’re sharing our first progress report, outlining strides we’ve made.
In learning the harsh truths about historic and ongoing injustices and actively committing to working towards reconciliation, we honour the children who never made it home, the Survivors of the Residential School system, and their families and communities.
It's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time to reflect on the dark history and inter-generational impact the Residential School system in Canada had and continues to have on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
Thank you for your patience as Alectra Utilities and Enbridge Gas complete electrical infrastructure replacements and upgrades along Wyndham Street North. This stage of work is expected to finish by March 2026, and all businesses remain accessible.
