Yeah, I was just getting into blues then so was sticking to the bigger names and think luckily all the CDs I had were decent enough
Think they were about 5 pounds and issue? I bought about ten of them at the time, possibly some were bought from the stall on the market though which sold the previous month's magazines very cheaply...
The 80s originals are often just cardboard covered in vinyl and are quite fragile once they get a bit of wear. Older ones are wood or some sort of particle board but turn up less often. Not sure I'd totally trust the clasps on either for regular use with the weight of them full...
The draw last year was Nov 8 if that helps (just checked your feed, don't have that memorised!)

A thoroughly fantastical movie poster for the release of 1968’s “Planet Of The Apes” in The Socialist Republic of Romania.
146m YouTube views - and a fair amount of those were me! 😀
I should finally get round to working out how to download audio or video from YouTube - can anyone recommend anything?
Just thinking about stuff like the '97 Wu Tang freestyle on Westwood's show in light of the news about him...
Very glad your posts don't have audio 😀
Yeah there's some good stuff reissues on that label - I normally try and avoid the budget releases, except when the originals can't easily be found for a quid!
The Ink Spots' version of that goes for reasonable money now (after it was used in Fallout), and I think people are looking out for other versions too - wonder if some youngster will stumble across old Don!
Been waiting a few years to find a nice copy of Má Vlast and then two come along - think consensus is the later DGG one may be a better performance than the Decca (this just the budget reissue, 50s original is 💰) will see if I can tell much difference 🤷‍♂️
Some #CharityClassical - well, the Viktoria Mullova was in a dealer's bargain box, don't think he'd looked up what it goes for, looks mint but there is a bit of noise in places.
Dorati/Resphighi is reissue of a classic late 50s Mercury Living Presence, and two Kubelik Ma Vlasts...
Four record sleeves - Viktoria Mullova Tchaikovsky & Sibelius violin concertos, Antal Dorati conducting Respighi's "The Birds" and "Brazilian Impressions" and Kubelik conducting Smetana's Ma Vlast - box set on DGG and reissue of earlier Decca recording
There's a whole subset of "bands inside drinking vessels" sleeves, it's a popular theme. Think we had a Twitter thread on the subject once

New one to me, pretty good - I like songs that mention other artists or songs
I found a knackered UK issue of "Afrodisia" for 20p back in the 90s and then a mono "Exotica" (mono the better one) in a local charity a few years back, but that's about it - in 30 years!
Thought it was the LP at first, but the CD is still a great find! Almost never see exotica around in the UK...
Some recent Exotica/Latin finds 🗿🌴
- Augie Colón "Chant of the Jungle", "Driftin' and Dreamin' in Hawaii" (Hawaiian guitar on red vinyl), Victor Piñero (Venezuelan) and "the Nightingale of America" Julio Jaramillo (very popular Ecuadorian singer)
Four LP sleeves - Augie Colón "Chant of the Jungle", Benjamin Rogers "Driftin' and Dreamin' in Hawaii", Victor Piñero "El Rey del Merecumbé" and Julio Jaramillo "Mis Mejores Pasillos"
Some recent acquisitions - Electric Prunes (thanks @dimorphodons.bsky.social !), Karen Beth (wish I'd bought this years ago, and almost did), Indo Jazz Fusions II (had the CD for years) and Bobby Darin
Four LP sleeves - The Electric Prunes "Mass in F Minor", Karen Beth "The Joys of Life", Joe Harriett/John Mayer "Indo-Jazz Fusions II" and Bobby Darin "Born Walden Robert Cassotto"

A very aspirational display in the window of a local charity shop
A rather handsome dummy with brown beard and long hair sitting in bed with a mug of tea, a book, and a computer monotor
Worth checking out then? I don't think I've ever heard anything else besides this (and the various remixes)
