The sooner we understand that Trump has no integrity, full stop, the sooner we will no longer be surprised by the rapid destruction of our nation.

Trump's egomaniacal pathology is a symptom of a deeper sickness in our fellow citizens. They are not enemies, but we must resist, unite, and heal.
Resist, unite, peacefully fight Trump's authoritarian power grab.

Sum > parts
Dems definitely need to focus on the affordability issue of energy, but to minimize the local and global consequences of climate change is a dereliction of duty.

Solor and wind are the cheapest sources of energy. And climate change will have/is a horrendous cost

Insufferably timid article: Trump's appointed dept. officials are not "unwilling or unable" to follow norms: they are actively complicit with creating an authoritarian regime.

Bondi, Patel, Blanche, and others are completely in Trump's pocket, serving only him, not their duties to the people.
But gen AI and LLMs don't need to be perfect to be massively useful and harmful.

AI is already taking jobs from young people, filling the internet with slop and misinformation, and concentrating massive wealth and power in a very few companies.

AI alignment with humanity's interests is crucial.
Gen AI and LLMs are fundamentally limited by their architecture: probability and prediction only mimic real intelligence. Error correction/hallucination is a massive problem.

I suspect most people don't understand how gen AI/LLMs work or their limitations.

AI bubble will burst with a bang.
Agreed, although gen AI and LLMs are fundamentally incapable of the lofty powers the greedy humans claim.

I suspect most people have no real grasp of how gen AI works, its limitations, and how to use it.

That lack of understanding + the insane overhype from OpenAI et al. created the bubble.
Feeling powerless is only natural, especially in systems designed to resist change so completely.

Future generations will pay the price of the past, no justice in that.

But I am a designer and thus an optimist: change is inevitable, and intentional action can shape that change. Find the leverage.
I hear you, these economic and political systems are by design built on power consolidation. Any change to that system is perceived as an existential threat to those in power/reap the benefits.

But change is inevitable. Good or bad? Who knows. Eventually, a great enough shock will force change.

No Kings
As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power ...

But eggs ARE $8, healthcare cost is set to spike, and AI is taking our jobs...

Americans are already tolerating fascism. 💀
Working theory: billionaires are either 1) Predisposed to be sociopaths, or 2) Excess wealth leads to pathological corruption.

In either case, there are no ethical billionaires.
So far, the courts are the only power-check on Trump, and they shaky checks at best. SCOTUS is totally skewed and corrupt, but lower courts have some success at upholding the rule of law.

For now.

The comprehensive corruption of DOJ is astounding.
Circumcision of kids is genital mutilation.

If an informed adult wants to get circumcised, fine.

But the practice is barbaric for children.
"Heart of a humanitarian" eh?

Remind me, who dismantled USAID, cut other world health aid, rolled over and enboldened Putin, pulled out of the Iran nuclean deal, killed boats of alleged drug dealers with no evidence/questionable military legality...

Trump is a egomaniacal demagogue. 🖕🖕🖕
BREAKING: Republican suddenly discovers power to resist authoritarianism was there all along.
In case it wasn't fucking obvious...

This is it, this is Fascism.

It's not a potential looming threat. Fascism is in our streets, in our neighborhoods, in the Oval Office.

Resistance is vital, but how we resist matters. Give them no pretext for further unlawful escalation.
President Donald Trump called for jailing Chicago's mayor and the governor of Illinois, both Democrats, as his administration prepared to deploy military troops to the streets of the third-largest US city reut.rs/4mSYMEc 1/6
Putting aside the lunacy of claiming the Insurrection Act has legal grounds here when Trump pardoned Jan.6 violent thugs convicted seditious conspiracy...

Trump desperately wants conflict. Resistance is vital, but we can't give any reason to justify further escalation.

RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES.
If this manufactured crisis of escalation is a "rebellion", future protests during and after elections are in deep trouble.

Trump et al. are normalizing the use of federal troops to suppress, intimidate, and obey unlawful orders in an ever increasingly obvious authoritarian power grab.
Meanwhile, Telsa board is proposing to pay Elon $1 TRILLION in shares if he meets growth goals.

Tesla is delusional and drunk on profit.
Fucking hell, grow a spine and report the facts: "conversion therapy" is medical malpractice that causes severe harm and increased risk of depression and suicide.
"Sustainable energy"? No. Efficient/cost effective, maybe.

But sustainable is meaninglessness in this context, unless the generation source is renewable.
"Emergency powers" to "get around" legal obstacles?

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Spot on.

Authoritarians cannot rule a united citizenry, so they manufacture division and exploit fear, provoke, justify military police state.

Resistance is vital, but how we resist matters. We cannot play into their hands.
