Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist, but I keep thinking of Bush's "Mission accomplished" moment when I read Gaza news.

Definitely gross! I have a couple of gray horses, and they are honestly just disgusting most of the time (except Azira who is perfect of course!) but none of them have ever slept face first in fresh manure. That’s talent. 😂

Oh yes... I have one of those. It's like a blender has gone through the stall by morning.

Yes, that's similar to me. I have five of my own, plus one long time boarder. I'm on 100+ acres, so it's not really a size limitation, but more would be way too much work. I think your barn plan is perfect. I have a 4 stall barn but the are all only 12X12, and once in while, bigger is better.

That sounds like a really nice setup with big stalls and separate runs 👍

Some of you have brains. You're the ones I feel bad for.

One thing that does get missed a lot in these articles is that the boycott is that it is not just about punishing the US. It's about helping Canadian workers and businesses survive this blatant attack on our economy.

These articles are getting a bit closer to the truth. But they still really fail to report on the actual rage that Canadians feel, and keep mentioning high hopes that we will soon come back. Apparently when we are over our little hurt feelings.

Yes, I can imagine. And of course the same issues would apply to UBI as well.

The bad boy is home. I had to drive up and load him on the trailer, because he declined to leave his new best friend. But he was happy enough once he got home and saw all his mares again. Much excitement and foolishness. Azira is thrilled and trying to hog all his attention. #horses #animals

Maybe. Though I’ve seen enough extreme right commentary suggesting that a dictatorship would be okay as long as it’s their own dictator that I’m not totally convinced. I certainly hope you are correct anyway.

You make a good point. However, this particular essay is about the tendencies towards an authoritarian viewpoint within the general populace, not those in power. So it really is not about dictatorship in this specific case.

Pope Leo quotes Hannah Arendt:

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist."

I think the govt is just swallowing CP management excuses without really examining the failures. It’s easier than thinking analytically.
greyazira.bsky.social
Canada Post management has utterly failed to look at the market and change to take advantage of the rapidly growing parcel business. It's a classic failure to adapt. And CP employees have been telling them this for years.

I agree with your general conclusion, though I have to say... Purolator is mostly more expensive than CP, and not as reliable for rural and remote deliveries. CP is actually not replaceable for those. Nor for multi-occupant buildings (condos, apartments, etc.)
