Greater bird’s-foot trefoil is a key forage plant for wet sites in Europe and North Africa. It has yellow flowers, hollow stems and it is perfect for grazing, hay, and silage production to feed sheep and cattle.

Sumpfzypresse (Taxodium distichum): 40 m hoher Laubbaum aus US-Sümpfen. Characteristisch: Massiv breiter Stammfuß, Kniewurzel, wasserfestes Holz. Für Paludikultur sehr geeignet.

Draining peatlands for farming and palm oil is causing massive carbon loss, soil subsidence, and land degradation.
But paludiculture — farming on wet peat — offers a sustainable way forward.
We must stop digging deeper into this climate trap.
