Gig #134 The Stranglers tonight at a sold out Leeds Academy
Gig #133 Panic Shack tonight at a new venue for me, The Foundry at Sheffield Uni. Looking at their gig listings it seems that a lot of bands that would normally play the now defunct Leadmill are playing the Foundry. I'm sure I'll be back there soon
Gig #132 final gig of the weekend, Jim Jones Allstars tonight at the Deaf Institute in Manchester. Not much room on stage for all 8 members of the band.
Gig #131 A sold out Lightning Seeds gig tonight at Holmfirth Picturedrome. Support was Casino
Gig #130 Back to the Parish for Smoove & Turrell, no support tonight
Gig #129 tonight was Balaam and the Angel at the Parish with support from Fluoxetine
@randomhand.co.uk FB just told me that this was 2 years ago today. One of my favourite Random Hand gigs
Gig #128. The BellRays tonight at The Old Woolen in Farsley
Gig #127 Jaya the Cat at the Parish tonight (joined for the song Huddersfield in the Rain by Karl from Bar Stool Preachers, pic below). Excellent support from Plot 32 and Headsticks
I saw them in 1991. Seeing them later this year at Rock City supporting the Almighty and headlining in Bradford. Still the original line up (bit less hair than in 1990 though !)
Gig #126 A Sunday afternoon gig to finish the weekend. Blaze Bayley at the Parish with support from 40,000 Leagues (and home in time for tea)
I also bought the bit of string so I can hang them round my neck if not needed. Bit expensive for a bit of string (with magnets) but I would of lost them by now without it !
There is always someone who does their best to talk over the loudest band !
I have started wearing Loop earplugs for gigs, they do seem to reduce background noise too as an added bonus
Glad it didn't spoil your evening too much. I hate people like that at gigs. It puts me off going to acoustic/quieter gigs as the chances of a talker spoiling things are high. Luckily most of what I go and see isn't quiet !
Gig #125 Holy Diva tonight at the Parish. A tribute to Ronnie James Dio with tunes from Sabbath, Rainbow and Dio
Gig #124 tonight was Wonk Unit at the excellent Yellow Arch Studio in Sheffield. Support from Fair Do's
Gig #123 Paradise Lost album launch show at Brudenell Social club tonight. No support
Gig #122 Steve Ignorant Band tonight at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. Support from the second best band from the Wirral, Crapsons
Gig #121 Back to the Parish in Huddersfield for Asomvel tonight. Support from Devere
Gig #120 Meryl Streek tonight at the Parish in Huddersfield. Support from Soapbox
Gig #119 The Alan Fletcher band tonight at a seated gig at the Wardrobe in Leeds. Support was from Riley Catherall
Gig #118 The Drowns tonight at Brudenell Social Club with support from Chaos 8 and The Allergics
Yeah, The Parish, I probably go to a gig there at least once a week. It's in the old courthouse/Tokyo's building.
Brudenell Social club in Leeds is another favourite, on 30 min away.
Really liked the venue. I much prefer smaller indy venues. I'm lucky to have a few good ones near me I'm Huddersfield
Gig #117 The Meffs tonight, in a new venue for me, The Ferret in Preston. Support from Face Up
