Here is my latest for @thehockeynews.bsky.social on the revelation that Brady Tkachuk will miss 4+ weeks with a right hand/wrist injury. It also looks at the quality of depth and how pressure is on the group to play well and produce in his absence.

I'll be jumping on @TSN1200 shortly after 3 pm this afternoon to talk Sens hockey. Tune in.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Donovan Sebrango was placed on waivers today at 2 pm. This was done for the purpose of sending him to Belleville. With the return of Tyler Kleven last night, the Senators will now look to carry seven defencemen.
Tkachuk still being evaluated to determine whether surgery is necessary per Green.
Brady Tkachuk will miss a "significant" amount of time. 4-plus weeks. Could be more than that per Green.
Linus out auditioning for a left wing spot.
Merilainen and a Sens staffer are the two goaltenders on the ice this morning. Batherson, Cousins Lycksell, and Spence have joined the group.
Optional skate this morning. Matinpalo, MacDermid, Sebrango and Jensen are the first four skaters onto the ice. Kleven just followed suit.
@cominginhot.bsky.social is dropping this morning before today's Sens practice. Sens will be skating and then heading out to Buffalo for Wednesday's tilt. Can catch today's podcast live here:

Brady Tkachuk has played fewer than 14 minutes in a game 16 times in his career. Three of them were late last season when he was dealing with an injury. Four occurred when he had 10+ minutes of penalties. One happened last night and the rest were during his 2018-19 rookie year.
No update on Brady from coach Green.
Marchessault ices this one into the empty cage. 3-1 Nashville.
Turnover at the blue line gets sent back down low where Marchessault walks out and slips one five-hole on Ullmark.
Sens have had three grade-A scoring chances off rushes. All three have culminated in shots into Saros' crest.
No goal on account of goaltender interference.
Nashville challenging for goaltender interference.
Sanderson scores after the puck was knocked off Tim Stutzle's stick. Roof job. 1-0 Sens.
Senators are now 2 for 2 on the penalty kill. Displaying much more aggressiveness and better rotations.
Sens' PK much more aggressive in the first 30 seconds when Nashville had possession. Ullmark then comes up with two huge saves off a rush.
Nick Jensen with a delay of game penalty. Ottawa's penalty kill will be put to the test early here.
Kyle Tyrris is in the house. He will be doing the pregame ceremonial bell ringing before this afternoon's home opener.

Green didn't like the team's game on Saturday. Easy to blame the PK, but didn't like their energy.
