Public speaking is always nice. Speaking at @gotocon.com even better, but speaking at #GOTOcph is top! I even got my own branded tee-shirt ☺️

Thanks to the team and thanks to everyone who attended my talk 🙏

Now time for some tourism around Copenhagen and Malmö
And that’s just scratching the surface. We’ll need some time (and probably more coffee) to process the rest.

💡 Missed it? Every talk will be streamable from Oct 10 with the Video Pass. buy.stripe.com/aFaaEX8bu81U...
@kevlin.bsky.social & @boicy.bovon.org asked: if the future isn’t what it used to be, what is it?
🔹 @krisajenkins.bsky.social made Python data visualisation look easy — like, suspiciously easy.
@ziobrando.bsky.social warned that without constant care, your models head straight for the Big Ball of Mud.
🔹 Sarah Hsu pushed us to actually monitor green software
🔹 @garthgilmour.bsky.social & Stuart Greenlees showed us what happens when you unleash GenAI on 3,000 devs
🔹 @hollycummins.com reminded us physics and economics don’t care if you’re a developer -they’ll shape your work anyway.
Day 2 at #GOTOcph didn’t hold back. Here’s just a taste of what we’re taking home:

🔹 @royvanrijn.com processed a billion rows in under 2 seconds and rocked the first-ever GOTO tattoo on stage. Respect.

The sticky notes held up well in Copenhagen! 🧡

A massive storm of orange sticky notes just wrapped up thanks to the amazing @gotocon.com for making it happen, and all the attendees.

We’re already gearing up for our next stop: Berlin!

Who’s joining us there?

I added some pre-slides to my talk for this morning at @gotocon.com #gotocph #goodall
Jane Goodall 1934-2025 picture of her in 1982 looking at slides, because as much as she loved young chimps, I find pictures of her playing with them of questionable value; she created natural orphanages for them, she didn't own them in her home. Hamilton's law – cooperation is natural. I had talked about the hate Goodall got for publishing about AI war Wilson, Boesch & al 2014 the culmination of the research on chimpanzee war – it's over resources. My actual talk: AI, Corporate Responsibility, and Democratic Legitimacy: Is DevOps the Answer? I got great questions after the talk; I love talking to real devs, especially security-conscious ones.

I’ll be spending the rest of the week enjoying the aofo! conference in Copenhagen. 😁

If you’re there, come say hi. 😀

💬 @boicy.bovon.org is deep in discussion at the Thoughtworks booth, proving the hallway track is where some of the best ideas land.
📚 Patrick Kua packed the stage with lessons on leveling up as a technical leader — then kept the conversations going at the FACTUM books booth.
We’re almost wrap up Day 1 of #GOTOcph and the energy is 🔥
