"COVID-19 and flu vaccines are one of the most effective ways to protect yourself from serious illness and complications,” said Dr. Trevor Arnason, Medical Officer of Health.
“We encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as they are eligible this fall.”

Last week I met up with Mike Soulier, a long-time Stittsville resident and father of two, who urgently needs a kidney donor. If you have blood type A or O, you could be a match. Most people are born with two kidneys, but only need one to live a healthy life.

Transit costs are "visible, while the costs of car dependence are mostly concealed. Car dependence costs us in the time lost in congestion, in the harm from pollution and accidents, and in countless other ways that we don’t consider." buff.ly/iMCY5Fe
Should We Let Public Transit Die?
Urban-rural hostility is fueling a public transportation crisis in US cities. But demands to abandon bus and train riders ignore the economic and social costs of cutting service.

Intelligent Speed Assist is awesome—an affordable and reliable mobility technology that really does save lives. As a safety solution, I’d take ISA 10/10 times over robotaxis.

Reckless speeding is epidemic in the US. This simple technology could save tens of thousands of lives.

If we want to really start to address our country's housing challenges, we need to start fixing our country's transit challenges. Time and again, the main pushback on new housing developments is not the housing itself but concerns about traffic, congestion, and parking.

Encourage reading the whole post, which is admirably measured.

TL;DR: We don’t fully understand what’s behind the jump in US pedestrian deaths, but car bloat seems to be an important factor.

Deep dive into the surge in US pedestrian deaths:

"It’s not that more pedestrians are getting hit by vehicles; it’s that the ones that are getting hit are more likely to die."

"[That] seems like fairly strong evidence for the theory that the rise in large SUVs is behind the uptick in ped deaths."
Why Are So Many Pedestrians Killed by Cars in the US?
It’s unfortunately not uncommon for pedestrians to be killed by cars in the US.
