Corruption! A cartel operating between the energy companies. Shameless price gouging. Even Octopus guy who puts on a good PR face is complicit in this!
glassrod57.bsky.social
No sweat! I just think it is a fundamental change that a Westminster based party has actually come out and supported Independence in Scotland

So now what? Another delay? Push it under the carpet for another year till the public forgets? No fecking way!! Jail her and her husband and go for the others!
glassrod57.bsky.social
I think he just said today he support Scottish and Welsh Independence.

Most polling companies still use a weighting factor based on the 2014 Referendum result. It skews the polls in favour of NO. This is despite the Referendum being 11 years ago. And that over 600,000 Scots have died since then. Most over 65 years old. In 2014 that group was polling 80% NO.
glassrod57.bsky.social
I guess I wouldn't mind so much in an Independent Scotland, but at the moment we have a parliament where the Unionist parties collude against the Scottish Government and SNP. The PR algorithm is not the best PR model, but I guess that is why Westminster chose it for the Devolution Agreement.
glassrod57.bsky.social
Exactly and the best party is Scottish Greens. They bring a whole new demographic to the indy cause. Environmentalists, Vegans, animal rights supporters, climate change activists. Many are young adults! Greens also already have 8 List seats and 220,000 List votes to build on. 👍

The trend is -

2021 SNP got 64(62 & 2) seats.
2016 SNP got 63(59 & 4) seats.
2011 SNP got 69(53 & 16) seats.
2007 SNP got 47(21 & 26) seats.

The more Constituency seats you win the less List seats you get allocated.

Precedent is barking up the wrong tree!

I don't think either plan will trigger a Referendum. But reducing the number of Unionist MSP to less than 40/129 sends a message! 70% of Holyrood is in Indy hands. To me that is more powerful than SNP saying they have 65 seats and a 1 seat majority!
glassrod57.bsky.social
So don't watch that crap! Young adults don't watch Prime Time TV and terrestrial News/Political programmes. They are polling 70% YES. Because they have escaped the brainwashing shite we get served up from UK paid for channels
glassrod57.bsky.social
STV have steadily got worse over the past 3-4 years. SNP bad stories! Scottish Government BAD stories! SNHS bad stories! Westminster are shitting themselves about the support for Independence and have instructed STV to join BBC Scotland in their propaganda campaign!
glassrod57.bsky.social
Yep, I am so disappointed and angry at the Senior figures in SNP. I want to obliterate the Unionist MSPs in Holyrood. Currently they have 57 seats(11 Constituency & 46 List). We could reduce that 39 seats between Tory, Labour, Lib Dems and ReformUK. Imagine saying Indy parties held 70% of the seats.
glassrod57.bsky.social
They are playing party politics. By promoting SNP 1 & 2 they are effectively stopping 1 million List votes going to another Indy party. They would rather waste those 1 million votes than let the Scottish Greens for example win 30 Lists seats. Swinney & Brown want SNP to be the big boss party!
glassrod57.bsky.social
I can only hope that the Scottish Greens will promote SNP 1 Scottish Greens 2 and work with SNP to create an Indy alliance. Keith Brown is my MSP and I have already fallen out with him on this strategy. Currently SNP are polling 35% on Constituency and 30% on List.
glassrod57.bsky.social
I have been an SNP voter/member for decades. I am 68. I am wondering if I will ever see an Independent Scotland. 1st & foremost I am an Independence supporter! SNP are playing party politics with SNP 1 and 2. Eliminating Unionist MSPs in Holyrood & getting 90/129 MSPs is better than 52% of the vote
glassrod57.bsky.social
I don't think SNP or the previous Labour governments in Holyrood have made the slightest effort to educate the electorate on how the D'Hondt PR system works. As the standing government, they don't want a strong second party in Holyrood. SNP are playing party politics!!
glassrod57.bsky.social
They may do and of course if Corbyn's " Your Party" enter the Holyrood contest that could split the Unionist votes further. It is great that SNP is polling 62-64 Constituency seats. But the consequence is that their List votes get hammered by the PR algorithm and so zero SNP List seats.
glassrod57.bsky.social
Unless SNP win 65+ Constituency seats there will be no SNP majority. They are polling to win 62 Constituency seats & zero Lists seats. It isn't 2011! They only won 53 Constituency seats & that allowed them to pick up List seats. They will not get 50%+ of the vote in the Constituency or List votes.
glassrod57.bsky.social
A shitty 1 seat more??? How about 30 seats more! If SNP supporters hadn't wasted 1 million List votes by voting SNP 1 and 2 and gave their List votes to Scottish Greens we could have had 90/129 Indy seats in Holyrood. A 40 seat majority instead of 1!! 70% of parliament
glassrod57.bsky.social
Exactly! There is no "Trickle Down " economics. Just another lie from the Tories initially and now Labour and ReformUK.
glassrod57.bsky.social
In 2011 SNP only won 53 Constituency seats, so in certain regions they were able to pick up List seats. That isn't going to happen in 2026. SNP are polling 62 Constituency seats and zero List seats, so no seat majority and they won't get 50%of the Constituency or List votes either.
