Het is de vraag of de Belastingdienst het wel aankan, qua automatisering, om nu een grote stelselwijziging door de voeren. Principieel heb je gelijk, maar of het praktisch haalbaar is?

It's weird to see the cultural differences. In Dutch, the word 'libelle' is associated with a stuffy women's magazine, you won't see people drawing themselves as 'libelles'. But 'dragonfly' elicits a very different response in the English speaking world. Fascinating, but it did pollute the feed :-)

I have had to filter out a lot of posts, blocking many accounts in the process. But slowly we're getting to the place where it is indeed mostly images of odonata.

As the warmth shifts to other parts of the planet, I'm looking forward to seeing their photos; hopefully the feed will catch those!

As the dragonfly season winds down here in Europe, I look back on the first season of hosting the Odonata Worldwide feed. It's been a chore at times, as the word 'dragonfly' is used by many artists (and 'artists') to create all sorts of stuff that doesn't fit in the feed.

Code orange in the Dutch coastal areas from 14.00 here, as storm Benjamin is coming in. I'm a bit further inland (it's code yellow where I live) and shouldn't be too affected, but I still secured all the loose stuff in the garden :-)

From an economic and (arms) logistics viewpoint, I think Rotterdam is more important than Amsterdam, should a wider war erupt. There is a logic to this choice. If we can't defend both, then, well, Rotterdam comes first I think.
