Some cats are good rat catchers. My Navarre started with mice and worked his way up to rats. He left me half of one under the Xmas tree one year. It was the half with the tail, so I had something to tie it to the tree with. He was so thoughtful like that.
Is that a bettered Poul Anderson paperback on the bookshelf? He's an author who's sadly slipped into obscurity but should be better known. See also Edmund Cooper.
Again, you make yourself sound biased and political by using the term liberal/libs. It's lost it's real meaning and become something mindlessly used to condemn. Find a better way to express yourself.
It's not just 'liberals' who want them banned though. That fact you want to make gun violence into an excuse to bash 'liberals' says a lot about you and your narrow-mindedness.
A majority of Americans are in favour of better gun control. 'Assault rifles' were actually banned for a few years, but pressure from the NRA & the politicians they fund, rolled that back & prevent real action from happening.
That's a similar in principle to the tv licence funding the BBC. It works, but you'd end up with people whing 'I don't listen to music/read books/buy art, so why should I pay to support it ?'
That's just overexcitement. Studies have shown that it's not quantities of sugar that makes kids hyper, it's excitement and stimulation. Sugar+party= hyper kids Sugar+sit down storytime= calm kids.
In Norfolk we used to earn a bit of cash for strawberry picking. You just turned up at the field and picked until you'd had enough or earned enough to buy an lp, or whatever it was you wanted. We were paid by the punnet. It was really hard on the back though.
Writers write because we are compelled to by the people and ideas that form in our minds. Wrangling things into a workable story/poem can be a struggle, but solving the problem is satisfying. Giving hints to an AI doesn't produce the reward we need.
