While yet a boy I sought for ghosts, and sped
Thro’ many a listening chamber, cave and ruin,
And starlight wood, with fearful steps pursuing
Hopes of high talk with the departed dead.

When I say “inexplicable” I mean that I’ve actually described this phenomenon to doctors and they respond “huh, that’s weird” and then change the subject.
The day of still being exhausted after 14 hours of sleep was immediately followed by the inexplicable illness I get a couple times a year where my entire body aches and I feel like I’m going to die for 24 hours.
Probably workshopped that one with some of the writing staff.
I seriously believe the Thriller video doesn't get the credit it deserves for birthing a generation of Horror fans. Yeah, yeah Stephen King, Poltergeist, Friday The 13th... but for a lot of us, that video was the first time we saw anything like that. And it was beamed right into our houses!

The pack’s ready for a howling good Halloween! 🎃🐺
There are parts in Fire Walk With Me that scared the shit out of me. I haven't rewatched that one in a long time, because it also makes me profoundly sad, in a way that isn't altogether enjoyable. It's not like Titanic-sad, it's like actually watching the last days of someone you know is doomed-sad
I was born in Akron, Ohio and the only cool thing about that is that Lux Interior and Devo are also from there.
I've met a few ATE people. Also, people who think being neat=OCD, every severe headache is a migraine, and getting the shits immediately after eating out means you had food poisoning, and that it was caused by the last thing they ate.
I loved this movie when I was kid. I think I may have even seen it in the theater. I haven't seen it in ages; does one of the aliens talk like Jack Nicholson or am I making that up?
Hell yeah.
I've also done turkey gumbo (which is apparently a post Thanksgiving tradition in Louisiana) once.

Stanley Frederic’s "Witch Carving Pumpkin", the cover to the 1928 Halloween edition of the Saturday Evening Post.

I love the calmness & authority of its title character. And most of all I love her cat, who clearly deserved an solo Samhain cover to itself.
Listening to "Don't Break The Oath" right now.
God, I wish.

Although I must say I had forgotten the line about making "violent love" in the bushes and was quite scandalized when I heard it after not seeing the movie for many years. My pearls were clutched tightly!
If you find yourself questioning anything in this song, just be aware that these guys are German and that pretty much explains everything. German metalheads in the 80s really leaned into the silliest aspects of metal, unapologetically.
I'm not sure why I'm so amused by the fact that homie is using a cordless mic in the middle of the spooky forest. It's no sillier than a corded mic would have been, but also it is.

has this been a spectacular october? more like a spooktacular shocktober imo
Daytime Trick or Treating makes me sad.
Love pozole. I often make a post-Thanksgiving turkey pozole.
Guava Moon Pies? Damn, I thought the banana ones were exotic.
My mom and my sister were both servers at Shoney's back in the day. I haven't even seen one in years. Their hot fudge cake sundae was so good.
