Motto for life
there’s a scene in the new documentary where Elizabeth Taylor is talking about the stigma of AIDS and how she got involved in the movement and it’s fucking everything
Not sure NM need any help! Absolutely killing it.
Still can’t quite believe what I saw today. Was expecting a belting, tbh. And in front of a record crowd at Henson, it was pretty sweet.
I have no idea what it will take. I thought things would have changed after two seasons. When he was renewed it became clear that there was a general lack of concern for the W program. If there was this would not have been allowed to continue. The rot is deep set.
The Giants W program and its decline have finally got to me. I wrote this because the players deserve more, and words are all I have right now.

An open letter to the GWS GIANTS: what happened to your AFLW program?

Time to randomly promote my newsletter again: this week it’s about dressing for weightlifting. For the women at Atletika in Sydney, it is about performance, comfort, and finding your power. Just look at the sports bra.

"F**k being ashamed of your body"
I've always worried about how I look in the gym. I’ve realised that dressing for weightlifting, however, is about performance, comfort, and finding your power. Just look at the sports bra.

So I just sat in the freezing cold & watched #AFLWGiantsDons & I love this team but for the LOVE OF GOD I can NOT take another season of this. The players should not have to take another season of this.

Giants hierarchy: DO SOMETHING. This coaching set up you've got going? It's not it.

And today, the flip side. Thankfully Judith is doing her bit to keep people on the streets and more importantly, out of Mosman. www.smh.com.au/business/the...
And the underlying assumption: if you are POOR it's because you didn't WORK HARD.
I don't know why I still live in Sydney...this place is COOKED
There’s a cost of living crisis and people are struggling to put a ROOF OVER THE HEAD but it’s ok, Judith here has budgeted $500k to make sure no one else can live in her suburb.

The GWS Giants continue to be the most maddening team. You can’t come out and play like you don’t care for a half and then mow down the opponent every week. You’re going to get found out. One high point: I’ve a rainbow flag in the Giants cheer squad section and that is highly unusual but lovely.
If you’re reading that kind of stuff, Who Cares by Emily Kenway is great, as is Labours of Love by Madeline Bunting. Meanwhile, I’ll check out Post-Work
The article is quite good because Keane skewers these blokes who can't understand why we pay people to care (and assume someone, probably a woman, will care for them when they need it). But yes, it's the lack of "efficiency" that is one of the problems. People and their mess just aren't efficient.
This piece had my blood boiling, whist shaking my head in agreement at how spot on it is. Caring is still not "work" because it sits outside of what some people can fathom as "productive". What could be more productive than keeping someone alive?

Why are men so angry about the growth of the care economy?
Hostility towards the care economy is partly based on its labour intensity — but much more on partisanship and male assumptions that caring work isn't really a proper part of the economy anyway.
