Nice! I think as soon as those card games got around, everyone here had some sketchy creature or another with either reasonable abilities or 9000 attack because they read a Digimon card and decided it could totally beat all the Pokemon you guys. XD Do you remember those scan/disk to monster games?

Did you have more creatures to go with the fox? I see it has attacks which meant it was planned for something. Coming up with that sort of stuff with friends was fun, like back when you first got introduced to video games and wanted to add some monsters of your own. :)

Started with the #sketchrequest and then filled out the rest with #fanart of various shows and games. I like the Pomni in the center. It really ties the set together. Some of these outfits are really difficult to draw with references only from a certain perspective. Names in alt text.
Art of various characters. Top left: Mildra's VTuber model from sketch request. Top middle: May from Guilty Gear Strive. Top right: Scarlet from Ravenswatch. Mid left: Drifter from Destiny 2. Orobos is now available in single-page and 2-page spread formats. You can download both versions to use with your preferred gaming setup. Thanks for playing the game!

Orobos is available as "pay what you want" to make the game available to all players regardless of their situation. That means free is an option. If you then choose to show us some monetary support later - awesome! Your support helps us continue to make cool things like art, books, and more games.

Follow along here for more news. We are looking for combat play testers to help refine (or break) the system. Combat uses a "dice recipe" mechanic, whereby you can perform special actions by using certain results in your 5d6 dice pool. It is light tactical and typically only players roll.

Making an RPG book takes a long time. Work on Orobos took about 2 years. Our team usually works on more than one project at once so that we can smoothly transition from one to the next. I am excited to announce our next book is called Cynder! It is a game about small heroes on big adventures.

To celebrate the release of Orobos Championship Tournament, I am taking #sketchrequest! Send me a picture of your #OC or #OCT character and I will do as many as I can to post later this week. I want to see the creativity of our community. :)

Kickstarter backer copies have been sent to the email addresses provided by folks on Kickstarter. You may need to check your promotions, updates, or spam folder depending on your email provider. If anyone has issues accessing the book, let me know and we will get that fixed. It's launch day. :)

The book has been submitted to the publisher for approval. I can see it on the website already but I do not yet have confirmation/email from them that it is actually available for other people. It might be ready though! Check it out and let me know if it works.

Work on the Orobos Championship Tournament is complete! The book moves on for final publisher approval this weekend, and hopefully all books can be delivered to backers by the end of next week. Thank you to all of our Kickstarter backers who helped make this possible. I will share more soon.

Indeed, it is like seeing people you knew or heard of from a small town getting back together again.

These last few months have been difficult and dark, and they do not seem to be getting better for the country. It is why we must remember to take care of each other, to laugh again, and to love unapologetically. If you cannot find the light, then be that light. Together. Take care, everyone.

Lovely colors and expressions for these folks. I need to watch that at some point to find out what they are up to. :)

I am afraid so. 2010 here seeing Law of Talos as well. ha. I do not know most of the newer ones, but it is awesome seeing people keeping that spirit going and the last few days I have found a lot of art to check out.

Why not make this a week of #OCT posts? There is a lot to share! What stories inspired your #OC or their world? Did a particular book, or show, or video game help get their concept started? Sometimes it is a singular artist or piece of media that makes us say, "I want to do THAT, but my own way!"
generalredland.bsky.social
Thank you, everyone, for sharing all those wonderful experiences with OCTs! I am blown away by the number of responses here and it took me awhile to read them all. From one generation of artists to another, it is heartening to see the community going strong, adapting and continuing to tell stories.

Hi #OCT folks! What was the OCT that got you into the community? Do you have a favorite or one that had a particular influence on you? It could be one you auditioned for, competed in, or just followed to see all the cool stuff. Let us start off the week with some good memories. :)

Artists have a proud tradition of making art out of spite for the people in power, even when commissioned to paint entire cathedrals by said people in power.

Generally speaking I like random folks that then become named/familiar characters by sticking around, getting nicknames, doing cool stuff, etc. I loved that my ranger in XCOM2 became "Terminator" when she got an insta kill sword reaction on a mini boss as it spawned. You remember those characters.

Lots of videos out dissecting what is going on with the back end. The consensus (now) seems to be it's counting about half as many desktop views as the video actually gets, but still showing ads to those uncounted viewers. Then it directs viewers to unmonetized videos/channels first at a breakpoint.

Eh, there's no way that could end badly in a high stress moment. ha
