Amazing.

I thought his cover of Simon's Graceland was also phenomenal, as it's not an easy song to get right.

But I'm also flabbergasted by the quality of that recording outdoors. With just a Zoom HD.
We've had many times in our history when some have played on the fear of hidden enemies among us, whether it was the red scare of the 20s, McCarthyism, the Alien & Sedition Acts.

Today, the actual enemies aren't hidden. They're brazenly, openly attacking our democracy. We know who they are.
Slavery is our history. It is not our heritage.
Because monuments to the defense and perpetuation of slavery aren't the same as the residence of a democratically elected leader that represents the will of the people.

Heritage is more than history or the past: It's that which contributed & lead to our identity, values, and beliefs.
A trip to Scotland had come up in our vacation discussions. And Orkney is a non negotiable part of it. I'll give up Isle of Skye if I must.
Anyone who supports Trump right now isn't someone I want to know or talk to.
I don’t remember them on Baxter paper. It’s been a while since I looked at my copies, but I thought they were newsprint with glossy covers. They might have been Mando paper.
…pursuing crime like a detective. And the details can be disturbing. It fits w the dark tones of Watchmen & DKR but is more grounded in reality.

It’s the last pre-Crisis appearance of several Superman cast members, tho it published *after* Crisis.

Strong Lois story.
It’s a somber plot, starting with a child murder & missing children. It builds on Superman dating Lana, not Lois. It develops the very rocky Lois & Lucy relationship. And we learn about Lana’s “missing” years.

It has a sort of pulp/noir vibe as it centers on Lois as an investigative reporter…
This Mindy Newell-Gray Morrow two-issue mini series with Lois Lane is an underappreciated 1986 series.
I was honestly horrified by the video of Trump shitting on Americans.

Then I saw this and was horrified by the lack of outrage.

Then he demanded $230m from the DOJ.

I'm as disgusted with his supporters as I am with him.

Gonna rewire it. 220…221…whatever it takes.
Brazilian beef imports rose nearly 500% from 2024 to 2025. Been rising for 3+ years.

Meanwhile US cattle inventory is at its lowest in 73 years. Importing cheaper beef from another South American country won't help them.

Ask why that's so and you get to problems like climate change.
That visual is one hell of a metaphor for what Trump is doing.
NYT editors are so tuned into the right wing they can’t fathom something outside that frame.

But I think he does understand it and wants to curry favor with the right wing.
This guy was probably pretty excited when Olivia Nuzzi got hired by Vanity Fair.
Also, look at the 2 pieces about Trump & Democratic ads. Positive positioning of Trump advancing his agenda and “well worn” and “old” Democratic pitch.

I was on a Friedkin rewatch the past year. Sorcerer rose to my 2nd favorite Friedkin movie. When he was on, he was amazing.
Headed to the Baltimore Comic Con w some items to get autographed, which I almost never do. But so many artists & writers I’ve enjoyed so much will be there.

I’ll be helping my daughter at table F9.

I can’t find Thor #337 after the move to MD. It’s here but I must have put it in the wrong box.
Excellent. I loved Mare of Eastown, though it had a couple of odd turns. So far, Task has avoided that.

This week's episode was structurally interesting--1st half action & 2nd half a slower pace--but it worked well.
Of course the White Man’s Party doesn’t think domestic violence is “really serious.”
Thanks! It looked like a retelling with new art but wasn’t sure. I imagine it’s greatly satisfying to finish the story.

Back in the day, I bought a number of MonkeyBrain comics incl Oct Girl. But those and a couple of others disappeared from my library. So I’m looking forward to the new comics.
Sorry if I missed this, but I looked …how does this GN relate to the Monkey Brain issues of October Girl?
When I was a kid helping my dad put up a fence to split a pasture, we ate lunch under the trees. Then I saw the snake on a limb above where my dad sat. He calmly, slowly slid over and away. I thought the snake would drop on him at any moment.
