#NoKings what hit me the hardest at the No Kings rally in Savannah was when we chanted “This is what Democracy looks like” because it truly is to be able to peacefully protest, I use to take the peaceful transfer of power for granted…not anymore

The Democrats need to get a hell of a lot of cameras on the White House and plaster the photos everywhere. It's not just the brazen symbol of a megalomaniac destroying national heritage; it's happening during a government shutdown when ordinary people aren't getting paid. Make every American see it.

Repeating what I wrote last week; to the extent there is rising backlash against DHS, it is not because of political rhetoric, it is because of experiences real people are having.

We all want to be safe, and we want law enforcement to adopt policies that keep us safe - and make communities feel safe. It's also true that ICE officers have a genuine concern for their own safety. Yet the Trump administration's aggressive mass deportation operations are premised on an explicit goal of making immigrant communities feel unsafe; to frighten millions of immigrants into
"self-deportation." And when communities feel unsafe, the natural reaction is to direct blame towards the most visible cause - increased immigration
enforcement and the people carrying it out.
