My most extreme view is that using AI on marketplace ads is just false advertising, because you're not portraying the skins/mods as the are in-game. This of course varies depending on what the item being sold is. (Like selling a couch but making your avatars look better with ai in the ad)

I've never once expected total realism from SL, or the media that comes out of it. But there is an increasing number of both marketplace ads and independent media that uses these AI tools to try and give themselves and edge online. And I fear this hobby might become consumed by these tools.

One thing I;m seeing a lot of is sl photography being run through AI to give avatars realistically human details (skin, hair, face composition, etc), or make SL look (sort of) like an actual photo of reality. This feels both disingenuous and an undermining of the skill of SL photography.
