Mega Man Animated Series Blu-Ray Preorders Discounted At Amazon
Mega Man: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) $38 (was $50) Preorder at Amazon Preorder at Crunchyroll The '90s animated series based on Capcom's beloved Mega Man franchise is finally coming to Blu-ray later this month. Mega Man: The Complete Series joins Discotek's lineup of standard definition Blu-rays on October 28. This is great news for fans of charming cartoon, as the 2014 DVD edition has been out of print for years and sells for high prices these days. Mega Man fans can preorder the new Blu-ray edition for $38 at Amazon or $40 at Crunchyroll. If you already preordered at Amazon for the full $50 MSRP, your order total will automatically be adjusted to reflect the discount--and any future discounts, should it drop lower, Amazon offers prior to launch. Mega Man: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) $38 (was $50) Mega Man: The Complete Series includes all 27 episodes from the show's two-season run (1994-96). It's worth emphasizing that while this is a Blu-ray disc, the series is presented in standard definition with the original broadcast aspect ratio of 4:3. Bonus materials include an interesting mix of archival content, TV commercials, and new features like select commentary tracks from Mega Man's US voice actor, Ian James Corlett. The total runtime for Mega Man: The Complete Series on Blu-ray is 10 hours and 50 minutes. Preorder at Amazon Preorder at Crunchyroll Mega Man: The Complete Series Blu-ray Special Features * Mega Man original pilot pitch * Scans of the original press kit * TV commercial * Toy commercial * Art galleries * Series bible * All-new commentary from Mega Man voice actor Ian James Corlett Like other animated series of the time, Mega Man is a lighthearted cartoon with plenty of silliness. Even though it's a family-friendly show, it still has plenty of action, and the show accurately recreates the main plot of games from the time. Mega Man regularly battles Dr. Wily's mechanized forces, and episodes regularly introduce new Robot Masters. This show was a joint effort between Ruby-Spears Productions and Ashi Productions, and while the episodes are still presented in standard definition, they should still look great, as the slick animation style has held up well.Continue Reading at GameSpot

At Least One Dev Hopes GTA 6 Is $100
Nearly two years ago, Rockstar Games shared the first look at Grand Theft Auto 6, one of the most highly anticipated titles in the history of the video game industry. Since then, numerous analysts and gaming industry figures have speculated or openly wished for the game to be sold for $100 in order for other AAA games to reach the same price. Now, Saints Row design director Chris Stockman has shared his wish for GTA 6 to be $100 as well, but not for the same reason as some of his peers. "They're the only ones that can get away with it," said Stockman during an interview with Esports Insider (via Insider Gaming). "I don't think it's a rising tide that floats all boats. I think that [there will] be a tremendous amount of backlash if everyone switched to $100. Not all games are created equal. I think GTA is the only one that can get away with it, and I hope they do. I really hope it’s $100. I think it deserves to be $100. The scope and magnitude of this production deserves that price tag, but not everything is treated equally. It would be a disaster if everyone tried to match them." Earlier this year, Wedbush Securities argued that selling GTA 6 at $100 could benefit players by giving them a massive amount of in-game currency for GTA Online. Alinea Analytics' Rhys Elliott disagreed and said it was a bad idea because GTA Online is the real cash cow of the franchise. Elliott also cited the rising cost of living as a primary reason not to charge players a higher price than the industry standard. Most of the newer AAA games are now going for $70.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Bleach Returns In 2026 With A New Action-RPG Adventure
Bleach fans can look forward to a second video game based on the popular manga and anime series, as Crunchyroll has announced Bleach: Soul Resonance. This new dive into the franchise is an action-RPG that features the Bleach cast as playable characters and combat where you directly control their blades. It'll be launching later this year for iOS and Android mobile devices. Developer Nuverse says that the game will feature "innovative" swordplay, as players can wield their blades against enemies by moving their fingers across the screen. Wherever your finger goes, the blade follows, and the developer says that each Zanpakuto sword has a unique feel to its design, just like the weapons seen in the anime. Switching between characters will also allow players to pull off powerful combos, and creating a versatile lineup to make the most of character synergies is another key gameplay element. So far, it looks like the roster will include all the characters you'd expect from a Bleach game--from protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki to Soul Society captains like Byakuya Kuchiki and Kenpachi Zaraki--and pre-registration is now open for Bleach: Soul Resonance. If you'd prefer to play a game set in that universe of Soul Reapers and Hollows, you can grab Bleach: Rebirth of Souls on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 right now. The fighting game released earlier this year, and unlike your typical 3D arena-fighter anime game, this one features a layered and complex gameplay system that's built around momentum and last-minute comebacks.Continue Reading at GameSpot
