FIRST POST!

Hello, this is GabeA113. Welcome to Blue Sky. I like to talk about Animation/Disney/Movies/Nintendo. Just about almost anything.

Everyone is welcome, including LGBT+!
Speaking of Disney Animation, the studio was founded on this day.

Here’s a beautiful group photo from the studio’s 100th anniversary short film, Once Upon a Studio from 2 years ago.
He’s no different than today’s CEOs where he only cares about views/money instead of customer’s satisfaction.
Considering that Disney Animation’s last films are under 90-100 minutes, This is a good sign.
The runtime of ‘ZOOTOPIA 2’ is 1 hour and 47 minutes.

1 minute shorter than the first film.
FINALLY!
AMC and Netflix have agreed to work together 🍿

• AMC will show ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ on 400 screens during Halloween

• Discussions are underway for other theatrical opportunities
Speaking of K-POP Demon Hunters.

It’s back in theaters, but it’s still the sing-along version.

Not that I’m against it, but I want a traditional version.

Still happy that’s back in theaters.
One of my friends wanted to have an animated/live action film not from their live action department, but rather their main animation studio(Aka, Walt Disney Animation Studios).

And I’m not complaining if it ends up being true.
I really enjoyed K-POP Demon Hunters, but it isn’t my choice for Animated film of 2025.

But I understand if the Academy ended giving the award to the most streamed title ever on Netflix.

I say either an independent film or I HOPE, Zootopia 2, would be my choice for this year.
Even with the popularity of K-POP Demon Hunters, if it did get released this year, then it would’ve easily been dominating the Best Animated Feature award, including the Oscar.

I’m just not ready however for the fake animation fans online to go super sans mode if their favorite(K-POP) doesn’t win.
It’s also the first time since 2011’s Winnie the Pooh that Disney used a prominent use of hand drawn animation that isn’t a minute long, effects for CGI films, or for theme parks.

Boy, it won’t be long before they fully use it for a film again.
Or because of studios don’t have enough materials to hire better actors.

I could be wrong, but that’s my guess.
Wish we would have a straight forward sequel to Legacy instead of another movie to a franchise made from scratch.

But the reason why we have a new Tron movie right now is because of the controversial actor that is Jared Leto.
Just as long as they don’t spoil the film, they should be more.
Only if the quality is like Inside Out 2 and not Moana 2.
Moana 2 didn’t get a lot of promotion compared to Wicked: Part 1 and yet made a billion dollars at the box office.

Yep, same page as you.
Boy, imagine a spiritual successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
That could the first animated/live action hybrid to cross over a billion dollars at the box office if they have the right materials for it.
Same page as you.

Disney better give that project to their main animation studio instead of their live-action division, otherwise, it would be a “be careful what you wish for” situation.
Frozen was originally going be made in hand drawn, but because of the complexity of the snow and the financial disappointment of Winnie the Pooh, it ended up being in computer animation. And well, the rest is history.
They did tried that. Like after they released their first 3 computer animated films, they released a hand drawn film(Princess and the Frog), and then a year later, a computer animated film(Tangled), and so on and so forth(Winnie the Pooh and then Wreck-It-Ralph).
Oh wait…Pooh made more money than the crappy motion capture film that shut down ImageMovers Digital.
I honestly would’ve swapped dates with Winnie the Pooh and Mars Needs Moms.

The latter is better off bombing hard than Winnie the Pooh.
I really wish that would be the scenario if the Princess and the Frog made $150-200 million in the US and $300 million worldwide and Winnie the Pooh making at least $100 million all together if it weren’t for the latter being released on the same day as the final Harry Potter film.
