It’s not all literally bad things if you really enjoy seeing racial minorities and people you disagree with constantly being brutalized by the state. They are willing to tolerate a lot of bad outcomes in the economy etc as long as they get to feel like they are a part of mass racism

Yes but Tennessee is a very red state rather than a swing state. The backlash to this sort of thing could turn the tide in a swing state which is why I assume Trump isn’t unleashing the national guard /ICE hydra into places like Atlanta or Detroit or Philly or Phoenix
