The biggest takeaway has been that the problem all the people who weren't patient enough to sit down and learn art also aren't patient enough to sit down and work to grow an audience. It turned out the issue was never art skill, but dedication and work ethic.

So now there's way less art AND it's harder to find. I'm so actively hostile towards LLMs as a consumer now.

It's part of why I've just started regularly posting writing. Even if it's not particularly notable, it's at least real.

My favorite part of LLMs has been watching a bunch of people who claim they can "now make art" use them for two weeks to make some drivel that sucks, realize what they're doing sucks, and then silently stop.

And the constant barrage of people doing this drowns out the people who ARE making art.
