Yeah, this is a newish Greek Orthodox cathedral in Columbia, SC in the Byzantine style. One of the other interesting things, too, are the crosses with the crescent at the base when they went the other way yet again. Serbs really don't want you to call that coffee Turkish coffee....

When I was there I was shocked how they kept building new ones in that design. They were intentionally keeping the Byzantine design even with new construction. One of the counterintuitive ones is that the riassa we wear over cassocks is actually Ottoman, the design went the other way.

Not going to link to the rage bait post, but it's always enlightening how much people don't know about the intersection of Byzantine Orthodoxy and Islam. This post references "Qatari" and that's a Byzantine church that has been converted or styled to be a mosque. Probably Turkish.

This is very good for the areas I'm familiar with and have lived in 39, 41, and 42. My only caveat is that 39 probably needs two regions, N Georgia, East TN, and Western NC in one, and the rest in another.

Chicken tax already covered light but I think that's mostly gotten around by going through Mexico and Canada. We had a plant here in SC that put together "kits" of Daimler vans for years to get around it. I don't know how you tell the difference between medium and heavy... dump trucks v semi?

Genetics is crazy with this, too. I've only had one surgery and after being wheeled in I was like "hi" and the nurse anesthesiologist looked at me and said "your beard is red" and pressed a button and I was gone. I was supposed to be out before coming in the room but it wasn't strong enough.

I've never been able to answer because it's so arbitrary I just say "Five? I don't know." The first day I took meloxicam was eye-opening. I had no idea what you're "supposed" to feel like. Like my hips and knees aren't constantly asking for attention.

I haven’t done the complete numbers, but when a bunch of us “gifted kids” from the 70s-80s reconnected in the early 2000s, it was something like a 50% college degree rate. High drug use, lots of travel, adrenaline seeking. It took me 10 yrs to get a BA. Boredom discussion is a joke.
