It's a shame that Debbie Jaffe doesn't get the recognition she deserves. One of the few female artists of industrial culture. Versatile, intelligent. It would be nice if Himukalt or Puce Mary recognized her as a pioneer.

Cynical? No sense to sit on boxes of shirts and records and mourn the good old days. Think we should combine the good things of the past with the possibilities of today. Not talking about charts; that's a marginal product. The business has been screwing artists for decades. Music used to have teeth.

Perhaps printed cards, crafts, something that can be produced on demand with one's own printer. Ltd. signed, personally? Mail art. Maybe the profit margin would even be higher. Just nonsense, so far.

Aside from the fact that without fans, I wouldn't have to worry about that, I thought about foregoing physical releases altogether. Music is sound, it's data. For those who like to have something in their hands, one could also offer 'objects' in addition to downloads.

I agree. the internet, originally the hoped-for creative freedom, ultimately only serves exploitation. It's possible, and actually the duty of artists, to reclaim this space and make it creatively usable. Art has nothing to do with entertainment. It's older than language. A necessity for a society.

Unfortunately, the EU DSA requires us to provide privacy policy information. It's impossible to legally integrate SC into this. This company doesn't have a usable address. It's crazy, but I'm essentially breaking the law by using the platform. But I think your idea of reclaiming it is great.

Yes, that's where I see the problem with Bandcamp. You produce 10 songs, and then listeners only pick out the hits. The rest is bubble wrap. That ruins the whole narrative. One more point for physical releases. Thanks for following, by the way.

Streaming also consume energy. But I don't know of a direct comparison. I'm oldschool myself, love physical things, but I don't really see the future there. For me, it means freedom, not being tied to a medium's format. Not the torture of filling an LP. Spontaneity and flow. Or economic suicide. ;)

There's always so much to discover in your paintings. That's what I love about Hieronymus Bosch, too. Individual elements and scenes that create tension and tell stories. :)
