Government mandated online age verification is dangerous, doesn't work, and poses a massive threat to human rights and free expression no matter where/how it's done. Full stop.

This is pretty close to what we're asking for in terms of device-level parental controls and leaving the internet alone. It doesn't require ID or other sensitive info uploads, it's a parent inputting their child's birthdate in the phone upon setup

Seconding this.

Device-based solutions is the best outcome if we absolutely *must* have AV shoved down our throats.

So I think adult sites should sue for being excluded from the scope, but that's just me, maybe that wouldn't help much.
