One month's rainful in one weekend - and this is what our local beck (stream) looks like! Oh - and it's still raining...
Happy Halloween everyone! To help celebrate I've made 'Reflections in a Dark Pool' freely available. This eerie fantasy m/m tale was inspired by a sacred spring I tripped over while out walking in some local woods.

Hope you enjoy it if you take a look. ☺️🦇

My heart goes out to them. I've experienced 135 mph winds and it was terrifying... and this is even worse. 😥
oh gods that's terrible! 😜
Big treat on Saturday night as we and a friend went to a concert by Guitar Heads at the Royalty Cinema in Bowness. The band specialise in classic electric guitar hits from the ages and are fantastic, so it was a great night's entertainment. Apologies for the crap photo - the best my phone would do!
We didn't quite turn blue 😁
Love the "what they are paying now". Um... it's the Americans who pay the tariff... 🙄
Had our first decent walk for over a week yesterday as I've been flat out with a weird flu bug. Didn't go as far as usual but still enjoyed a stroll through Wray Castle grounds and along the shore of Windermere. Lovely autumn colours but the wind was freeeeeezing! 🥶
Have just seen a goldcrest pecking about on the bamboo in our front garden. I think they're quite rare now so it was a special treat. :)
I has tomatoes! From my magic tomato tree!

In other words, this is the teeny tiny crop from the tomato plant that magically seeded itself in one of the pots in the back garden. I'm quite sure they're not edible, but I still feel oddly proud of them... ;)
Aww, thank you! Flu never comes at a good time...
Totally. Britain has always accepted other cultures - look at the Liverpool Chinatown which is oldest in Europe...
Feeling peeved... have yet another flu-type bug and am having to miss all sorts including an art society visit to a Grade I listed Voysey house, a boat trip, and quite possibly my mother-in-law's birthday celebrations.
OMG how many generations back would that go???
We had an errand near the M6 so carried on into Lancaster and spent the morning exploring - including the canal. All looking lovely with the autumn colours...

Possibly since it's still relatively mild. Having visions of lots of obese robins and blackbirds staggering about 😆
Maybe even the birds are gorged to the max!
I know it's a so-called "mast year" with tons of acorns, but has anyone else noticed vast quantities of yew berries as well? When it rained heavily last week there was pink soup on the streets under all the yew trees!!
Nul points to Booths in Kendal who are blasting out Christmas music over loudspeakers in both the main store and the cafe, so loud you can hear it outside the building. And it's only mid-October!! Not great for neuro-diverse shoppers, or even for hearing what the assistants were saying... 🎄😟
