It's a really good one, watched it for the first time in a while myself a few months ago

If anyone does know the film it happens in I'd be very thankful, even if I've forgotten what I needed it for by now.

I was trying to find the source for that scene where a character walks towards the camera as signs of places they're passing/visiting float by them. The Simpsons use it at some point.

Google couldn't pick up what I was putting down & instead accuses me of misremembering the movie "Signs".

Rude.
Google search:
montage of signs walking scene

AI Summary:
The "montage of signs" is likely a misremembered scene from the movie Signs, which features a memorable walking scene where an alien is briefly revealed in broad daylight, but not a montage of signs. The film uses the alien threat to explore themes of faith and grief, and its cinematography is a significant part of its impact.

The "Signs" Walking Scene: The film features a scene where the main character, Graham Hess, sees the alien walking in his cornfield. The scene is intentionally jarring and was designed to be a significant moment of revelation.
• Film Themes: The extraterrestrial conflict is a metaphor for the inexplicable nature of grief and a crisis of faith that the protagonist experiences after his wife's death. The aliens' appearance and actions mirror the confusing and overwhelming feelings he grapples with.
Cinematography: The film's cinematography is a key element of its suspense and emotional impact. The way the scenes are framed and shot, even the ones with the CGI aliens, is often described as meticulously handled.

I wish I could watch things "in the background". It's never been something I can do, attention is always fully drawn in away from whatever I'm supposed to be doing.

How do people find time to keep up with 4 hours of Critical Role every week?

I'm still struggling to make headway through episode 2 and episode 3 is about to add another 4hrs of watching material tonight.

Jane can be an acquired taste for sure. It took me a good while to come around on first watch.

WHEN THERE’S TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Oh wow. Yes, very clever! Waterfall treasure! No one’s ever done that before. Lazy jackass

WHEN THERE’S NO TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Wow. Too stuck-up to put treasure there huh? Too much of a fucking ICONOCLAST for that? Piece of shit. FUCK you

This reminds me of Jenny Nicolson's complaints about Disney's marketing enforcing the full naming conventions in paid advertising, even with sponsored influencer stuff: youtu.be/T0CpOYZZZW4?...

As someone who now uses the awful bottle&can recycle machines, my favourite part of them is still a toss-up between the machine telling me that I'm putting the bottles in too fast (despite never having more than one on the belt at a time) and being told to "try again" after they're already taken.

My hatred for their hair-conforming space helmets and my desire for a bike helmet that doesn't smoosh any attempts at a good hair day is a hypocrisy tinted with jealously, and I am okay with that.

I hate the Shi'ar. Every time they appear my interest craters.

I especially hate their silly metal hoods.

What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?

The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷
fiercemilder.com
Obviously the whole Phoenix concept was just created and I'm sure was not expected to be the big thing that it's become since, so there was no required reverence to treat it with or anything, it's just funny in hindsight.
fiercemilder.com
I think it's just that I'd built up my expectation of finally actually starting to read the phoenix saga, only to be immediately landed six pages later into a couple of issues of odd 70s paddywhackery featuring the Juggernaut fighting leprechauns inside a castle basement in Mayo.

As an Irish person who has recently tried to catch up on all things XMen, this was very jarring to me mainly knowing about the classic storyline through the 90's cartoon:

I'm working my way through the XMen comics and I was very caught off guard that as soon as Jean becomes the Phoenix, the whole team is packed off for a mandatory holiday in Ballina, Co. Mayo.
