Demirtaş’s release is not a favor or a matter of negotiation; it is the return of what was unjustly taken from him by the government. The freedom of #Demirtaş, Figen #Yüksekdağ, Osman #Kavala, Can #Atalay, and all political #prisoners is the restitution of rights that were unlawfully seized.
Why should Demirtaş be released?
If we truly wish for the children of Anatolia and Mesopotamia to grow freely—in their own languages, joys, and dreams—then the path lies through the release of imprisoned hopes, the reckoning of justi...

What do you mean by trampling? 4+ million Turks in Germany. I am not aware of any trampling by government rules. Unlike the discriminating official rules in Turkey regarding foreigners, incl me
Do not totally agree. The politicians of western governments turn a blind eye on many, not all, events. The media does not, depending on their spectrum and owners. The private media usually pick topics that gives them clicks. So, if people are tired of negative news and more autocrats, less coverage
...how much news is made about your country in Turkey or others? Most news- outlets cover events in their own area, not looking around the globe. That is normal too. Usually the national news should point out the problems in their area so they can be addressed by the officials - FreePress is needed
Unfortunately yes, too little coverage. As freelancer we notice it too. The reason is as simple as sad: There are too many bigger problems in the world going on that take up all budgets and air time. Gaza, Ukraine, Trump, etc. And - you never told me where you live or your origins +
Now? Not new unfortunately. Tons of examples

Your choice of course. I told you mine by choice, hence I asked. It was is helpful to know what countries someone has lived in. People that have never lived outside their hometown are usually the extreme ones. (Not referring to you)
Definately mutual. Turks really dont "like" arabs. That is already the starting point.
May I ask you about what city you grew up and how much you know about Turkey and the region?
Mostly, is my guess. And the classic: if too many form ghetto in a city the original inhabitants get nervous.
But the economic pressure has been increasing a lot over the past years
Each culture, nationality, religion, etc. has good and bad people. The bad 1-5% ruin the image of all others.
So. Alone the fact that rents doubled in 2014 was too much for many Turks already. Got worse after Russian invaded Ukraine and so many more came to Turkey. Rents five folded. Long story
True.
But I can mostly talk for Üsküdar (Istanbul).
But Aksaray in İstanbul is a hot spot. And many cities close to the Syrian border. Like Gaziantep, Kilis, Hatay (before the earthquake)
Oh sorry. My mistake regarding the pic.
Well...you are aware about the media situation in Turkey? (Rsf placement at 165 out of 180)
2024 was so big. It was not possible to hide it.
Ever time I talk in Turkish to people about this, the reactions are really harsh and prejudice. Wrong info too
Well...Germany was evil until 1945. Does it mean it should be ignored or forgotten?
2024 is one year only. You have an ottoman profile pic. How many years ago was that?
What?!??! Pls google. In the past years, there are multiple events about witch hunts and attacks on Syrian neighbors and burning down homes and worse... unfortunately.
And the world still just let them do so many criminal things and start WWIII - sad, double standards

no no, general rule. Many tell me (I have a good network and still did not work) that IT IS due to the Syrians. The "Syrians are treated well" image, I can not confirm. I see that they get treated badly in most places. They are hated.
