Out of shape chunky monkey who's rediscovering a love of nature & hiking. And when I say hiking, I mean nature walks on easy trails because the aforementioned shape does not yet support the hard hikes. Nature walks are my therapy.

Haven't had much opportunity for hiking lately because, you know, summer in Louisiana. BUT I'm planning a little nature weekend in a few days so hopefully I'll get out into the greenery.

Hey guys- White nationalists have helped a white woman in Minnesota raise $300k after she was filmed calling a five-year-old Black child the n-word.

The local NAACP chapter is fundraising for the boy and his family to get legal help. The least we could do is out-fundraise the nazis.

I hope you all got out yesterday for #celebratetrails day! I did and it was awesome. Group hike, wildlife, trail snacks, and some unexpected Clydesdales. It was a good day.

I did so much nature over the last 5 days. Weekend stay at a tiny cabin in the woods in Mississippi, the Mississippi Grand Canyon, and two trails closer to home today. My forest goblin heart is happy.

This is what makes me the most angry. That 99.5% of things they do are awful and hurtful or stupid as fuck, but then there's like one tiny little thing that is good as an unexpected byproduct, and everybody praises that one thing. Completely forgetting everything else. Ugh.

Yesterday I worked remotely from the zoo. I took a meeting while #dinosaurs roared in the background. (& Just in case it's necessary: the dinosaurs weren't real. It's an animatronic exhibit) But I also hung out with #birds and #alligators and elephants.
