Yes but they used woodblock printing for those large scale printing so not moveable type, it was a different kind of printing and it involved different devices & processes.
Gutenberg created complete, integrated manufacturing system and he invented the adjustable hand mold.
Made it economical.

He was incredibly talented and his career had only just begun, had he lived he would have made many masterpieces.

Another victim was Carel Fabritius, a painter who was considered to be Rembrandt's most talented student, he was 32.
Many of his paintings were destroyed.

That means "a child from".
One line says 'A child from Egbert van der Poel', yes the man who made the painting that started this thread.

Nobody really knows what caused it, but all it would have taken was a spark.
The explosion could be heard in Texel, over 140km away.

The powder storage was mostly underground and secret, few people knew about it.
Although originally located under an industrial area, later a street was built on top of it.

On this day in 1654 a gunpowder store with 90.000 pounds of powder exploded in the Dutch city of Delft.
Over 500 houses were demolished, thousands were injured and at least 100 people died, although that number was likely much higher.

Ik zat als kind op de Jac P. Thijsseschool, maar wist weinig van de goede man.
