There have been two hosts in the history of Reading Rainbow. The Legend of Literacy, LeVar Burton! And... me, Mychal Threets, a librarian 🥹🤯

I am a reader, a librarian because LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow made us believe and see we belong in books, we belong everywhere ✨

"As ICE transforms into a massive, un-uniformed, masked domestic army ... there’s reason to believe it could backfire," writes @joshuamzeitz in his analysis.

Or who simply would try to show any compassion to those being haunted… yet another, well documented, fear tactic from the past…
For those of us who grew up learning about WWII… doesn’t this remind you of the something? In many cities/towns Nazis instituted something that in Polish was called „łapanki”… which can be translated into „captures”… they were capturing anyone who might have any visible Jewish features

Federal immigration officers, some on horseback and in armored vehicles, descended on MacArthur Park in Los Angeles this morning as part of what ICE called a “large–scale federal immigration enforcement operation” in a statement to CBS News. ICE also said that CBP led the operation.
Thus is not over; the tactics changed but censorship has rooted itself in our culture. The fear factor worked. It’s no longer about librarians putting books in the shelves; it’s about publishers not publishing certain subjects, authors not writing about them and schools avoiding to teach them

Why am I getting USA news faster from PL than here? This Polish radio station just announced that American B-2’s left USA?
My prediction is that in the near future you will be able to tell if your interlocutor uses their brain or AI tool to craft their written responses…

This is chilling to watch and utterly unacceptable in the United States of America.

As a former Senator, I’m calling on all current members to speak out on behalf of Sen. Padilla and defend him and the Senate against these outrageous attacks.
Senator Padilla’s office sends me this video of his take-down and detention at Sec. Noem’s press conference in L.A.
Is this DC or … Moscow?
