FWIW, social democracies like Norway, Sweden etc have big businesses. They have billionaires.

They also have universal healthcare, quality free education & child care, and programs to curb poverty and food insecurity.

How?

Their billionaires pay taxes and don’t control the government.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Unser kapitalistisches Wirtschaftssystem basiert auf Wachstum. Darum müssen wir unsere Objekte (Kleider, Geräte, Fahrzeuge, Häuser usw) in immer kürzeren Abständen entsorgen und neu kaufen.

Das Doofe ist halt nur, dass man das mit unserem Planeten nicht tun kann.

But 2024 data confirm different story: programmatically, the overlaps are strikingly close.
The real difference is govt participation, not ideology.

And yet, many still label the SVP as a center-right ("bürgerlich") party

The result is the political entertainment industry. Politics is reduced to entertainment, performance without substance, unable to process complexity because nuance is lost and attention fixed on immediate emotional impact.

This is not orchestrated propaganda but adaptive conditioning. Everyone, from Farage to the viewer at home, learns what the system rewards: outrage, certainty, and spectacle.

What they describe is performative discourse, where speech is rewarded for emotional impact rather than truth. Calm, reasoned discussion disappears because it does not perform well in the feed.
