Actual sleep? I wouldn't know what that is. I can't even wear my CPAP every night
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
I don't even uh, remember what I was reading. But it said stuff about that! About the traditional route being to put stuff on itch and then Steam, but now people seem to just be going straight to Steam.

I think it might have been talking about first game on Steam idk
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Yeah they mentioned that, wondering if that sort of thing was the case. Or people having previously worked on teams and such.

So what I'm saying is indie game devs are basically out here torturing themselves to make no money just so they can hopefully release something a handful of people enjoy. So play their games.

For over a year now, I've essentially been working two jobs and a side hustle, while trying to keep my home from falling apart. Plus I bought another home in there and visit Poland every month to try to keep my relationship from falling apart.

It's just so much.

I read the other day that the vast majority of indie game devs on Steam are releasing their first game, and the author was wondering why. I think I know.

Making a game on top of a job and cooking and cleaning and all the other things you have to do in life, drives you insane, if you aren't already.

I mean, I'm pretty new to like, using social media a lot. So it's new to me to have people who will freak out that you like, accidentally misgendered a fictional character and then block you.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Idk I just think social media drives people insane.

It kind of feels like online dating in a way. Where there are so many options out there that a lot of people adopt a one minor strike and you're out approach. And also choose to make every hill into a hill someone dies on.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
That seems kind of awesome except for the part where it isn't compatible with the outside world at all.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Sometimes I wish terminally online people would save all their arguing for things that matter, rather than attacking everyone they see about every potential microaggression they can imagine.

It does feel like walking on eggshells sometimes in very online spaces. It is VERY different from IRL.

The point isn't to shame anyone if they have weird medical issues. Most people just don't even bother trying to change themselves and just claim it's impossible.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Yeah my partner being in Europe also helps me get up early for sure.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
There is a big difference between "I have a natural preference for this kind of thing" and "I literally cannot get up in the morning"
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
It's really when you get them both together that messes you up. But maybe you're just luckier than I am
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Here in the US I could get it done relatively quickly but $$$

I just worry about the annoyance of having a pacemaker like thing.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Yeah I'm really bad about using my CPAP when I'm in the US, but use it all night every night when I'm in Europe, it's weird.

I kind of want to see if I can get that surgery they do now, but also it kind of seems like a pain.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Yeah, as I non driver I love subsidizing drivers with all the gas and parking and taxes and millions of way my money goes to making everything terrible so drivers can have their lives slightly easier.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
I mean, I have to sleep with a CPAP, I don't know if that's similar. I'm not saying you just pick a new time and start sleeping though. It's HARD to change your circadian rhythm, I'm just saying it's not impossible.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
One way you could maybe use it is: I don't know why it feels this way to me, but it feels like after you put out the fire, if you punch them they should shatter.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
When I came back from Japan I also got up at 5 AM every day for a while. But back then I didn't keep it.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
Yep that's how I did it in the end too. One of the trips outside of the country, I just never changed back and fixed the jetlag.
eternalskiestcg.bsky.social
You know what I did? One of the times I went to Europe I just didn't change my schedule back. It's not an unchangeable thing.
