The sarcophagus of Yaroslav the Wise (d.1054), Grand Prince of Kyiv, and his wife Ingegerd (d.1051), Princess of Sweden.

St. Sophia Cathedral, Kyiv.

During WWII, Yaroslav’s remains were secretly taken abroad and are kept outside Ukraine. Ingegerd rests here.

St. Sophia Cathedral is fantastic. The cathedral, the sarcophagus, and the remains of the Princess are an incredible legacy.
A spiritual place with or without religion🙏

I spent a few hours in my favorite nature park. The snack bar is closing today, and the ducks will have the lake to themselves for the next six months.

Hopefully, the sun will return to Kyiv soon and bring back some warmth in coming days.
