Turns out I got a glimpse of a Comet tonight as well: C/2025 A6 (Lemmon). Visible as a tiny speck with a very faint tail, on the border of the aurora borealis together with a couple of shooting stars (or satellites).

Aurora Borealis.

What it sort of looks like with the naked eye.

VS

What it can look like through a camera lens with adjustments in image editing software:

Doing a Rock, Paper Scissor tournament with @pertrosfoliea.bsky.social (who did most of the work) on wplace.live was fun!

Running some more.

It's both.

And "related" depends on how you define it.

I personally wouldn't say we are related if we had different abiogenic origins. Even if the matter that makes us up does have a common origin. That would make us related to, say, chairs. Which... ok?
For that I would instead use "connected".
Ooh that is gorgeous!

For about one second (but not much more) I thought it was from this island in Norway. It is a very crappy picture compared to yours, but it is the only one I have of it (called "Træna" if you want to have a better look on the internet from better photos):
Parks and recreation. Dark deux.

Having absolutely no plans, no rush, and just go for walks is the best! Suddenly I'm on a small model train. Then I save lives at the beach.

While walking around with no plans and no rush is the best, when you have no knowledge, the walks can lead you to places that might look good, but their history is hard to see.

"Don't come to Japan in July, there are too many people, huge crowds, and it is very hot!"

Gorgeous!
Semi related: Been there on the second panorama!
You must have been up high for that one.
Very nice tilt-shift! Got a fancy lens, or is it post processing?
It is difficult to get the scale without reference, so to help, I brought a banana.

Unfortunately it was way too small.

So instead I used a picture I took earlier of a person next to the glacier (do not recommend going that close!) so now scale should be easier to grasp.
The scarmaker. 4/4

The ancient force is revealed.
A withering behemoth in defiant retreat.
The battle seemingly lost, yet the war is far from over.

The living scar. 3/4

The scar is not dead.
Life finds ways to survive on the scattered, yet nutrient rich remains of the ancient force.

The rich scar 2/4

On its retreat, the ancient force bleeds and reveals the rich lands underneath.
Lands lavish with exotic elements, hidden for countless millennia.

The scar.

Created by an ancient and vast force, yet beaten back by the combined effort of humanity. While slowly abrading the lands in its ever hastening retreat, to reveal the smoothly sculpted, lithic ground underneath.

This was no victory.

New phone, who dis? (Not actually a new phone, but I do know that bird (not on a first name basis but as a species)). The statue is Havmannen.

I don't have to swim, I can make my own bridges.
Have fun defending goat fuckers.
The huge contributions are tarnished.

Let me explain with a famous joke:

-"I built a house, but they don't call me Bob the house builder."
-"I built a bridge, but they don't call me Bob the bridge buider."
-"I built a dock, but they don't call me Bob the dock builder."
-"I fuck one goat..."
If you see this, post a video game that transports you to your childhood
More rural Japan at night.

This time a lot less rural.

Walking around in Shuzenji Onsen.

It is not illegal in Germany per say. They are strict with the use. There are exceptions and context matters. You can see that you can try and justify the use in the screenshot.

A game I worked on was among the first wave of video game titles that were permitted to display the swastika in Germany.
Cambrian volcanic rock.

Early Ordovician sandstone.

Late Ordcovician limestone.

Blanketed with a thin sheet of Pleistocene moraine.

Looks nice.

(I might have found a geological map of the place)
