Not you, the but a bit part of the world has made me want to hide away from it for a bit. I'll be back I'm sure, but just had a guts full.
I made this Toolbox for my son's 9th birthday.
Both his sisters got one at that age, so I'd created a bit of tradition!
A simple celtic knot design is on the sides. Watch the full video on my YouTube channel now!

Interesting start to the day. Deer road kill (no damage to the car). I’ve missed them by inches so many times but this morning the luck of one ran out. I am looking after him, he’s sleeping in a cold box now…. #countrylife
Broke the tractor. I'm so close to doing everything by hand as it's just easier than fixing machinery all the time.
It is, and I have done on many occasions, ive had dozens over the years. But also it's good to have a genetically diverse flock of birds which will be far more likely to survive bird flu.
The time goes fast. Year 6 and 7 mine kicked into gear a bit.
Book 5 of 2025,
Loved this final book in the series. Laugh out loud funny at times, and superbly written, a great cast of characters. Kind of low stakes/cosy sci-fi, which leaves you feeling happy. I will read more by this author. Well read as well, great voice.
Book 6 of 2025. Loved it, very 1950s in its style, but still completely holds up. Yes it's a bit sexist &"of it's time", but for the concept it's brilliant. Bit worrying how quickly he thought the world could turn to chaos (the morning after)!
The apples from the store taste amazing this time of year.
Nature finds a way...
I worry the world is telling to stop posting content! Left my camera for a few minutes and a bird pooped on it! Is it trying to tell me something? I know my YouTube needs work, but...

We have a lot of birthdays over these few weeks and that means a lot of cake. This week I said to the eldest could I make something other than cake and she agreed, so we had birthday panettone!
Was rather lovely if I do say so myself.
I think at best I can call this a restorative hedge lay. The one stump which had all the growth was rotten and wouldn't be pleached (not with my skills anyway). There's not a 10ft gap I'll need to plant up, then a few more to lay over then another gap.
10 years time it might look better...
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this much growth of litchen and moss is a good thing for our air quality around here.
The branches are down. Going to leave the trunk to pollard back I think.
It's not great timber and a lot has split or is rotten. I keep trying to find some bits I could save and use, but also it's just so heavy! I have a few lenghts I might try to split at a later date.
Giant fallen oak tree dismantling continued today.
This was after I'd treated my bees for varroa and got stung on the neck...
Gingerbread biscuits sure help a winters day...
Idiots on twitter celebrating that fact checker is to be shut down.
"Serves them right for supporting their paymasters" one tweeted. I mean it's the exact opposite surely? It's because they wouldn't they no longer have a paymaster.
