i don't feel like magic set surveys usually have this question and i don't appreciate the implication that content creators, who do so so much for the game, are possibly to blame for a bad set's poor performance. 👎

But more to the fan side of things, MTG *does* have a story with like 30 years of fleshing out, and the actual MTG part of the game is getting overshadowed and delayed in favor of the crossovers. The joke about the upcoming set, Lorwyn Eclipsed, is that its name is extra appropriate now.

Balance reasons, for one- putting out that many sets that quickly means there's less time for QC. But also it seems designed to siphon collectors' wallets- more cards means more spending on cards, faster.

For me personally, absolutely not. Creative endeavors have to remain a pressure cooker- any time I let stuff about them leak out, the drive to finish it gets a little weaker.
