A statement regarding the current status of my music

After much thought and consideration regarding my current well-being and thoughts towards my musical works, I have decided to make the decision to put releasing on the EmeraldX project on hiatus. While I am not currently in a position to talk about specific reasons for this, I can mention that I am currently looking towards a much different direction to focus on in terms of how I make music and what I want to show to the world. Because of this, there is a lot of uncertainty, however, I can confirm that there will be no other releases for the remainder of the year.

I hope that when I am ready to return to making music, I will have a fresher outlook and much of of a unique sound to share. It will take time for me to create what exactly I want to hear, but I'm certain that what it will become will be something that both myself and others will resonate with.

I thank everyone who has stuck with me so far in my musical journey. I hope to return when I am ready. As for now, I will still be supporting others including many other musicians who deserve the spotlight.

I know the feeling. I got super invested in the game The Finals just to find out as I was playing that the voice lines in the game are AI generated.

And the shitty thing is, outside of that, the game is the most fun I've had playing a shooter since Team Fortress 2.

I have been making music for 7 years now and I still feel like I know nothing about music production because of this.

And no, the solution is not "turn knobs/experiment and see what works" when:

a. You don't know what to listen for
and
b. You're knowledge of how the tools work is always hindered.

I feel like I can attribute this to online education and tutorials about music tools. Everyone will tell you either a range of vocabulary you've never heard of before to the most simple of descriptions. You feel like to understand only for someone to tell you that everyone online is "wrong."

Every time there's discussion about mixing and mastering in music, I honestly feel like I know less and less about production as a whole.

I feel like I ultimately undersold the "okay" label that I mentioned earlier today. I actually have been feeling pretty awful, but venting about it online isn't going to do me any good. My creative projects, or really any of my hobbies, have been hard to resume.

Shit sucks, but it's whatever.

I don't want to talk about my music right now. I have no idea what will become of it or what direction I'll take it in exactly. It'll probably be longer than I expect to get anything released at this point. No details right now.

I said last night that I'd talk about how I feel rn so here we go.

First off, I am doing okay for the most part, though I've been having some rather turbulent nights as of late. I don't think I've been feeling any different from when I stepped away from here this past week though.

Exactly why I wish there was a native version. I'll still hopefully try this method out if I can, but I wish it wasn't a pain the ass to set up FL on Linux in the first place.

As of now, I will likely push myself harder to limit my social media time drastically and not fall into scrolling habits like I often do. I have much to accomplish and prepare for both my irl and online tasks. Realistically, the more productive activities should be prioritized over passive lurking.

I think two things are for sure for me though:

-I don't be motivated to visit here as actively.
-I really, really need to spend the next day or two setting up a more curated experience with lists and muted words.

For every day that passes, this platform becomes more Twitter-like.

As for my presence here, I've thought it over and decided not to leave just yet. There's too many people to support over here who make the platform enjoyable. Plus, despite everything, Bluesky is still the lesser of evils somehow.

Part of this could be attributed to the fact that I pretty much failed at my social media detox. I replaced Bluesky habits with Reddit, and for what started out as brief checkups became long session usage.

My admittedly lack of initiative likely fucked me over these past few days.

Tried that and it fucked up my computer multiple times.

Really though, pressure Image-Line to make a native Linux version and it solve about 80% of my current roadblocks.
