Hi my wonderful #uglydogs & friends. I mentioned a few weeks ago that Bella and Moneypenny both need surgery. I lost my jobs in the DOGE cuts back in April and am currently unable to afford the care they need. Any help would be SO appreciated. I hate seeing my babies in pain. gofund.me/bfe99ebd2

I really can’t thank you all enough for donating for the girls and sharing the link. I’m finally starting to feel a little hope that this may be a real possibility.

I present to you one of my favorite memories: the first time Moneypenny stole Bella’s treat.

I just had the best doctor appointment of my life. My doctor was supportive, positive, and honestly wanted to help me find a treatment that would work for me and be covered by my insurance. She wasn’t dismissive in any way.

Oh my gosh! People have already started donating for Bella and Moneypenny. Thank you all so much. Your kindness and love mean the world to me. As a little thank you - here are pictures from each of the girls first car ride home. Probably the first pic I took of each of them.

Please consider sharing if you are unable to donate. I hate asking for help, but my girls and I need it. I would like to be able to schedule their surgeries for late November or early December. I wouldn’t be asking it wasn’t 100% necessary and couldn’t be put off any longer.

Ok #uglydog friends. I asked for advice a couple of weeks ago and several of you encouraged me to make a gofundme to raise money to pay for the surgeries that Bella and Moneypenny need. I’ve finally made one. I know many of us and struggling and hurting right now, so I understand if you aren’t able.

I may have become too much of a hermit again and waited until I had already reached the critical point of not being ok with it to notice. Very uncomfortable feeling. Very restless, lonely, and ick.

I need ideas for a new winter coat for someone with hips. Has to be budget friendly. DC winter is tame compared to most, but I’m a wuss and need something warm to deal with the wind.

I got lunch and dinner for both today and tomorrow for under $20. That’s a great deal in DC when you need food you don’t have to cook. Serving size is great. With the extra spoons I’ll have I can figure out something to cook that will last me the rest of the week and into the weekend.

I was laid off back in April, but it’s really sad to see the rest of the office go.

At the beginning of the year the office I worked in at HHS had around 140 people. Our workload was full - in fact we were fairly understaffed and could have used help. By April we had roughly 100. Triage time - too much work, but loved the work. After 4/1 there were 40-60. Today there are 20.
