Sudden forecast change ; partly sunny 76, 20% late afternoon showers. Only 68 right now.
Just finished posting fund raising drive on Party website. Committee is looking for monthly donations to carry us through the 2016 elections.

Low 40s at night, still near 80 day. Tue gym, finally got ab machine adjusted so my shoulder doesn't crunch and pop. Repaired popped nails and edges of siding and trim that had lifted on front. Caulked and ready for spot priming. Have to break up the soffit painting, pisses off shoulder.

It's way more sinister if you spell it "klown".
Accomplished what I set out to do Mon, insulated and covered repaired water pipes. Still want to add foil faced wrap on vertical pipe to cover the sun-rotted black wrap. And got the rest of the back wall painted. Lots of edging but got done in 2 hours

Beef broth from pot roast ends up in soup, chicken bones, scraps, and skeletons make stock. Pork broth? Dunno.

We use arm steak a lot, sometimes sirloin. Tenderizer & seasoning, freeze. Thaw day before to let tenderizer work. Last we bought was $6.49 Lb. $3 to $4 not that long ago.

I work herbs in mortar & pestle. L likes Big croutons 3/4 to 1". I add the salt after cubes are coated and spread.

Mix seasonings in a measuring cup or small bowl, add gradually to bread cubes, stirring as you add until well coated.

Spread seasoned bread cubes on a foil-covered baking sheet and bake at 325 for 20 - 25 minutes, stirring halfway.

Remove from oven, cool, then store.

Seasonings
1/3 Cup olive oil
1 Teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon Thyme
1 teaspoon Basil
2 Teaspoons granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon Sea salt

Even after 2 1/2 lbs waste, our bottom line for the usable part came to $1.22 a lb.
Beef on the other hand - damn, seems to have about doubled.

Next project was packing the 12 1/2 lbs of pork "chops" we got at 97 cents a pound. All kinds of odd cuts, lots of bone. However, ended up with 6 pcs we can call chops, 3 Lb pcs for stir fry or carnitas, 2 lb "cutlets" to bread and fry, 1 lb fatty stuff to cure with next batch of bacon.

Was going to do some painting, but ended up in kitchen. Batch of croutons. Really good easy recipe. $1 Italian loaf from walmart works well, makes 2 batches. Lady who posted recipe said she couldn't find her first batch. Finally asked the kids. "Oh yeah, what were those? They were great!"
