Finding a friendly snake!
Spotted Bush Snakes are harmless and quite cute. They are active in the day, hunt for geckos and are plentiful in bushy areas of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. And in my garden.

My entries for the #picturehooks prompt "What's Inside?". In my hometown, Durban, South Africa, Vervet monkeys are incredibly common and will steal food and random stuff from your house, or while you are unpacking groceries from your car.
This monkey was very disappointed in his loot. #kidlitart

Childhood memories illustrated.

I remember getting up to go to the loo in our beach cottage one night and seeing a giant rat saunter past!
The cottage was unoccupied most of the year. Rats and cockroaches were just part of the holiday experience.
