All you have to do to be trans in the US is figure out what bathroom you can use at each state you travel through, and which airline will allow you to fly! So easy!! 🙃

"It may vary by airline and/or airport. If you try this please let us know with which airline, at which airport, and how it went."

Let's be frank: A little used law means, there is a legal basis which was exploited with bad intent.

A lesson to learn here: The legal systems - laws etc. - of so many countries are cluttered with legacy rules and laws which a criminal mind may dig out and use. Decluttering - a call for action?

Sorry. It's known bug in the blog template that our volunteer designer/admin has been unable to correct easily. Workarounds include reading in portrait mode, in borwser "reader" mode, or on desktop.

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

I hope this incident (and public pressure it generates) will finally get airlines to close vulnerabilities of reservation systems to stalkers, harassers, etc. they've known about for decades but chose not to fix. CRSs need to add passwords & access logs: hasbrouck.org/blog/archive...

Yes. I've reported and tried to sound the alarm for 20+ years (including with authorities in the USA, Canada, and EU) about all of this.

I've been warning for years that airline reservations are insecure. Anyone who shoulder-surfs "record locator" from boarding pass or bag tag can access, change, or cancel them without password. There are no access logs. See explainer and links here & more on my site: hasbrouck.org/blog/archive...

Note circularity: Army says National Guard was requested to protect Federal courthouse in Loop (contradicting Chief Judge of that courthouse) *because* of "need" to protect court hearing regarding... deployment of Army to Chicago. If the Army weren't there, it wouldn't even arguably be needed.

Chief Judge Kendall's statement comes as last night an Army commander told a federal court that DHS had so far made two requests for National Guard deployments in the Chicago area: (1) at the Broadview ICE facility, (2) at the Dirksen Courthouse on Friday. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
As of 1430 CDT on October 8, 2025, ARNORTH has received two requests for protection support. First, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requested federalized National Guard personnel to support protection of federal property and personnel at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Broadview, Illinois. Second, the Federal
Protective Service (FPS) requested federalized National Guard personnel to support protection of
the Federal District Court on Friday, October 10, 2025 due to two high profile cases involving
DHS activities and personnel in the Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area.
