Exactly! And even if you're using a scheme, you should be able to adapt and be flexible with the content of it, anyway.
Hey so, following a pupil voice regarding the #Humanities today (as part of monitoring), a child (who I haven't taught before) said to me, "you are known as the greatest RE and History teacher that ever lived" and YES I'll take that 🖐🏽
After a decade (and more) in the classroom, I still have frequent moments of doubt. Am I failing? Then I’m home with my toddler, and it all feels a little simpler again. My daily reality check.
No schools left. Which means no teachers. No books, no classrooms, no safety. Just children, families and ruins. How can hope survive here. This is an insane, bewildering point of history.

That sounds brilliant - I especially would like secondary colleagues to explore this to help with bridging the gap between our key stages! Always happy to go into deeper conversations about anything you notice 👍🏽

I ordered a copy of this before Half Term - early into exploring it, but as a secondary specialist it is an interesting insight to thinking especially at EYFS and how that can be the foundation of all out teaching

Wow, thank you so much Katie 🤍 you sharing means a lot. I really hope this book starts up some good conversations and also helps everyone in primary schools - regardless of whether you lead the subject, or simply teach it! #teamRE
Excited @bloomsburyed.bsky.social recently published this, by the brilliant @educatormissm.bsky.social (primary RE is often overlooked by mainstream publishers). A great basic guide to teaching primary RE inc. some substantive knowledge and practical ideas for teaching at different stages. #teamRE 👏

Thanks Catriona! I'm making the most of a bigger garden since we bought a new house. And also having a little helper to water the plants with me 🧤
Here's my garden 🪏 attempt as a mere beginner. @re-mcgee.bsky.social
Oh I like that idea about neighbours! Will have a nosey 👀
I need tips! I am starting to develop a green finger and a keen one year old who loves to wander around with a watering can. So far a blackcurrant plant, rosemary, a creeper plant and a fig tree have been explored and planted!
