Hello @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social. I'm sure you are aware but there are still a number of trees down on the NEPN - a particularly dangerous one is edging over on the Ferry Road Path.

Adds some adrenaline to my runs but I'd rather not get squished.

Slightly baffled that the council has already integrated Elm Row-style pavement parking into their design for what's supposed to be a public space.

It's going to be chaos without any bollards. That pram's going to get runover by a double-cab pickup truck.

It just needs enforcement. There is nothing legal about this driver behaviour at Elm Row.

I'm sure I'm not that only one making endless reports to the council about it, for no action to be taken.

Investigation underway following hit and run crash on Prestonfield Avenue

An investigation is underway after a 29-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a van being driven on Prestonfield Avenue. The van driver failed to stop, and police have issued an appeal to trace the driver and vehicle. The man was taken to hospital where his current condition is unknown. The road was closed to facilitate the investigation. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.40pm on Friday, 26 September, 2025, we were called to a report of a 29-year-old man struck by a van on Prestonfield Avenue, Edinburgh which failed to stop. "Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. "Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and the vehicle involved."
