I’m a patriot by my actions, civilised behaviour and public service - I do not need the performative prop of flag waving to prove my loyalty to my country. Those who fly the flag in the cause of division are not patriots, they’re a threat to the peace and security of our land.

No we are not crazy and there is no contradiction: the horror of last week’s terrorist attack meant that there was a need for a greater police presence to protect our cherished Jewish community and the planned static protest required a police presence better employment protecting synagogues.
