To serve as my pinned:

Greetings! I'm Ian, and (amongst other things), I'm working on a metroidvania!

🌖"Moons in Crystal" is an isometric fantasy "space" metroidvania.🔮
"Warning: Kremlings Ahead" feels like it could apply to your account as a whole. ;P
This works for supporting artists, game-devs, and other creators too, I do feel!
heyhey do you wanna support artists on bsky?

how about hitting that sweet sweet 🔁 button. it really helps us out and makes our art more visible to other people who might be interested in following for our art or even buying from us.
it's free, only a button to press, and makes an artist's day!
Not to mean that she's holding that baseball so that it's clearly visible over her shoulder. "You and I both know exactly where this baseball's going to bean you in five seconds..."

Amusingly, this works regardless of which of them got the restraining order! XP
The irony is, if he hadn't wanted the restraining order, he need only have shown more restraint! :P

... Unless >she's< the one with the restraining order...? Maybe she's been going around throwing baseballs at him, and he finally had enough! :P
That's fair.

I basically learned on GIMP, so its workflow is just... what I'm used to. So I'm not exactly unbiased in my perspective on it!

(See also: Old Blender. I still haven't gotten around to trying New Blender. ^^; )
Although I will say that I have been having issues with the version that I have that weren't present in previous versions. :/

I think that they made some major changes, and now have some bugs to iron out.
Ah, interesting.

Hum--that's something that I can't really answer, I'm afraid. I've not felt it myself--but then I don't really have much experience of the professional tools.

It's changed a lot over the years, however, so I'd say to give it another shot, and see whether it's changed >enough<.
That's fair.

If I may ask, what happened? Maybe it's something that's been changed since then.
I don't know how the workflow might differ, but it might be worth looking at GIMP, too, especially the newer versions.

The northern hemispherers will never know what hot, sticky, blue skies, all-day-in-the-pool, meat-cooked-on-fire Christmas feels like, and that's sad and it makes me sad 🥲

I'm starting to feel that, after "Moons in Crystal", I might by-and-large eschew boss-fights in my games.

Even in actiony games.

(Although other types of major encounter might work!)

If I may, could I be added to the "solo dev" list, please?

(Also: Either way, this is really cool! Thank you for spreading awareness of indie devs and studios thus! ^_^)

For all the new folks landing in @bsky.app, both #indiedevs and players alike, I made some starter packs a while back that you might find useful 👍

🔸 Indie Game Studios - go.bsky.app/EbnyA2d

🔸 Solo Indie Devs - go.bsky.app/46HSs4C

🔸 Indie Game Publishers - go.bsky.app/DAoKtHj
(But let me note:

If you like boss-fights, don't worry--"Moons in Crystal" has plenty!

And if you don't, it has an optional setting to halve boss health-values! ^_^)
I think that I'm finding more and more that, while I often enjoy actiony games, I very seldom enjoy boss fights in them.

Boss fights are something that I get over with so that I can get back to exploring and fighting.

Bye! :P

And I'm awaiting for you to enter, so that I can cheer you on! ^_^

I like pixel-art! And I like >your< pixel-art! ^_^
Burning the pad, as the bosses burned all your joy. XP
Amusingly, "The Lord of the Rings and Dragons" was exactly what Gandalf was afraid of, and what set off the events of The Hobbit!
