People with type 1 diabetes #T1D can sometimes seem aloof and unapproachable. I want to let you know it isn't because we know we are so hot (we do), it is because we are really busy trying to stop our bodies from killing us.

at this point it would be interesting journalism if someone could locate a Young Republican groupchat that was not full of overt Nazis

I think protein supplementation might become even more important with glipination, ideally in an easy to consume form because otherwise the risk of not consuming enough may increase fast. Hopefully an area that will get some research attention

Dylan Mackay, nutrition clinical trialist from Winnipeg in the middle of Canada ,COIs is I am a colleague or supervisor of some of the authors, I also apply for lots of money every year to do diet trials in CKD (with limited success) #NephJC

Dieticians is fighting words...
But I agree, we need better trials, unfortunately we don't have the type of profit motive for a trial looking at protein intake that DAPA had. But if anyone is feeling generous we could definitely put a multimillion dollar research project into diet in CKD to good use

A headline above a picture of Sam Altman with the headline "ChatGPT creator denies sister's childhood rape claim" A headline above a picture of Sam Altman which says "Sam Altman says ChatGPT is getting into erotica by the end of the year"

Wow, say what you want about Charlie Kirk's politics (they were horrible), but dunking on a dead guy this hard is totally fair game because freedom of expression

Trump at the Charlie Kirk memorial event: "They fired sniper rifles at ICE agents, and me. But I made a turn at a good time. I made a turn at a good time. Charlie couldn't believe it, actually."

Why would anyone want an on-demand clanker slop film that is guaranteed to be mid

Billionaires who buy media don't do it for them to succeed in a sales and income sense. Success for them is less independent power of the fourth estate and more control and tools for the capital class

MMWR stole the show in the first round of headlines about CDC cuts but in the chaos, many missed that the NHANES mobile team remains RIF'd. This is the backbone of this key survey that contains some of the only representative anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary data on the country.
statnews.com
Protecting the nation’s public health demands data, whether it be new measles cases, a surge in ER visits, or shifting patterns in obesity. The most recent job cuts at the CDC threaten the mostly unseen foundation of that research enterprise.

CDC team running top survey on health and nutrition is laid off
NHANES has collected data on eating patterns, diabetes and other common diseases for decades. The CDC team that runs it has been fired.

They don't really want nutrition data collected if it might contradict the preconceived and inflexible theories that are being pushed by these MAHA grifters who are now unfortunately in control

Jews Muslims and Christians have always been there. Israel is a European colonial project. And an apartheid state that has committed a genocide. Holy books have no role to play in international law.
cathygellis.bsky.social
You don't need a holy book to know that Jews were in Israel a lot more recently than ancient times.

seems like a non-insignificant percentage of rage against the machine's fanbase are young republican men driving SUVs bopping their head to anti-oil, pro-immigrant songs thinking the lyrics are about how they wish their suburban parents would get off their back
Tom Morello tweets: "Fascinating that all those “don’t tread on me” posers and their AR-15’s are nowhere to be seen and government tyranny is instead being opposed by a guy in an inflatable frog suit."

Someone named Manny replies: "@grok
why do some people say Tom Morello and band mates are RAGE FOR THE MACHINE and not against ?"

For a very long time, this weird libertarian mishmash basically ran under the national radar because Portland was so small. But the whole time, my understanding of Portland was as a place where absurdist, self-determining approaches to everyday experiences were the norm.
