Continuing the hypothetical: Let's say you survive. Later, you run into someone who, knowing that a person just murdered your kid, says that that person was a hero actually.

Not to be a bitch, im glad more ppl are seeing the writing on the wall, but it sucks that for YEARS now ppl have been piling on artists for fiction, being told this is exactly where that shit would lead, and responding by doubling down on bullying/ isolating said artists +anyone supporting them
